When St Pancras was built, those working on this mega-project of the time had no idea that the station would need to survive two world wars, see the transition from a private to public asset, fall into disrepair and then host train services running direct to Paris.
Those working on the St Pancras station project were building a 'Cathedral to the Railways'. When we work on railway projects, we are building assets for a world unknown to us, where the benefits of our work will continue for hundreds of years after we've finished our work.
Happy International Day of Bids and Proposals!
