You should always use protection when engaging in sex (unless you’re trying to have a baby). There’s more than just the traditional condom, there’s female condoms and dental dams, too! These protective barriers are the ONLY thing that can protect you and your partner from STIs!
If someone says they are too big for the condom, they also make them in XL 😉 so just say you can wait until you get them!! Don’t ever feel pressured into having sex without protection + be confident and secure in your standing.

Periods just don’t work like that. The fact that a HEALTH teacher didn’t understand that... *sigh.* 👿
Menstruation is not something anyone can “hold in.” It’s a natural process that happens to people who have a uterus go through. #spookysexed#sexedmatters#sexedactivism

Part2: Think back to your sex education.. did you receive one? Was it abstinence-only based? Was it comprehensive? Do you feel you learned enough to make smart decisions regarding sex and your sexual health? #spookysexed#sexedmatters#sexeducation#sexed#activism#sexedactivism
Part1: A standard needs to be set federally that makes sure what is taught to people is medically accurate, comprehensive, and inclusive! While some states might have a requirement/standard, these are often not comprehensive, but rather abstinence-only. #spookysexed
Most SexEd courses don’t mention anything about the clitoris! The female anatomy is often left a mystery, this leaves women in a position where they're unable to express their wants & needs. SexEd should not only include male anatomy & pleasure, but female anatomy and pleasure 2!
The term “STD” implies that they are incurable/long lasting. That what you contract via sexual intercourse is permanent. In reality, most STDs are actually STIs/sexually transmitted infections. Most STIs can be cured with a quick visit to a medical provider, and treatment is easy
While some say that love is the strongest force in the world, it can’t protect you from STD/STIs! The only way to prevent contracting an STD/STI is with the use of condoms and other protective barriers. Also, make sure once you become sexually active that you are getting tested!
Good consent has the parties involved go over what will happen, getting an enthusiastic yes, and checking in. There are other forms - but checking in with your sexual partner and making sure they’re okay with everything is important!#spookysexed#sexedmatters
A little sex ed horror story for your timeline! When an individual has sex, no special hormone is released that bonds you to that person for life. There is no scientific data to prove that! The only chemical your body releases during sex are the pleasurable kind.😉 #spookysexed
Informed decisions are the best decisions! According to the @acog_org,comprehensive sex education should be medically accurate, evidence-based,& age-appropriate! This allows for all to make informed decisions & have access to info that is scientifically correct.#spookysexed#acog
A truly comprehensive sex education program could include this and more! Some good resources for finding out more information on queer sexuality would be your local LGBTQ+ center, which can usually be found on college campuses!
