Kazakhstan is building a data hub and moving away from Russian energy
Kazakhstan plans to build a major data center worth up to $3 billion.
The project will be implemented by European and American companies. A gas-fired power plant with a capacity of up to 250 MW will be built to support it.
Authorities are betting on the development and export of digital services. The first facilities are expected to launch as early as 2027.
In addition, Kazakhstan is preparing to stop importing electricity from Russia.
According to the deputy energy minister, this could happen next year thanks to increased domestic capacity.
