The U.S. Embassy in the United Kingdom has issued a security alert for U.S. citizens.

The UK has raised its national threat level, citing an increase in islamist terrorist threats.

Americans in the UK should maintain heightened awareness and take basic security precautions:

* Stay alert in public places and transportation hubs
* Avoid large gatherings or crowded events when possible
* Identify exits and safe routes in any location
* Monitor local news and official embassy updates
* Keep phones charged and maintain reliable communication
* Share movement plans with trusted contacts

While no disruption to travel options is currently expected, Project DYNAMO is ready to provide assistance for safer movement through the UK if conditions change.

Grateful that our President is safe and sound.

Events like this are not isolated. They are often the downstream effect of a hyper-politicized environment where rhetoric becomes incendiary and narratives can be weaponized.

In the aftermath of 9/11, while at the University of Houston, I conducted what was, at the time, the most comprehensive risk and threat assessment of a potential assassination attempt against a sitting POTUS, with the assistance of one of my professors (U.S. Army EOD - Secret Service, retired) and the United States Secret Service Houston Field Office.

That analysis examined over 110 years of magnicides worldwide and produced a conclusion that has held over time: the most likely attacker is a politically motivated or psychologically manipulated lone wolf. It also identified a consistent structure across these attacks:
* Lone-actor execution, network-influenced formation
* Grievance fused with identity
* Search for significance and legacy
* Behavioral leakage prior to action
* Impact opportunity over operational sophistication

These patterns are not anomalies, they are persistent.
