In light of the release of the #1926Census, we're currently working on adding enhanced transcripts of the 1901, 1911 and 1926 censuses for various institutions in Ireland.
You can view the ones we have so far (with more on the way) here: https://t.co/DzSwF3QIWA
A phenomenal interview @danielmloftus 👏
Well done also to @pjcoogan for highlighting Daniel’s tireless work
Daniel traced my paternal siblings who I am now in regular contact with.
I’m so grateful to Daniel & @Project_Infant for all the work they do
#MotherandBabyHomes
LISTEN BACK Naming The Nameless @Project_Infant Is A Son’s Search For Bessborough’s Truth
@pjcoogan hears that after discovering his own mother was born in Bessborough, @danielmloftus went on a mission to remember every child by name not just a number.

Thank you to @pjcoogan of @Corks96FM for chatting to me about my work at @Project_Infant.

As we at @Project_Infant have been prioritising the research into Dublin district to locate the remaining third of unknown children of Pelletstown and any other children who died in institutions around Dublin, I feel immensely grateful to people like @Care2much18 who...
It is despicable to take the credit for the work of the volunteers.
Those volunteers diligently trawled through the records to create the boards with the names of the #Bessboro missing babies.
Credit to @danielmloftus & @Project_Infant
I don’t intend to create squabbles but I can’t let the work of my volunteers at @Project_Infant not be highlighted. Only for them would those boards (and extra 74 names) have been found and created. Please give credit where credit is due.

I think the hardest part of this venture (and being in the area of advocacy in general) was the feeling of hope, the feeling that some form of change might happen.
And then it's extinguished like a flame...
#Bessborough needs an investigation.
🧵1/6
In October 2025 I on behalf of myself & @danielmloftus met with @FergalDennehy & @McGrathSeamus with a proposal for an independent investigation of the remaining 60 acres at #Bessborough
Our stance has always been about finding the missing babies.
Thank you to @danielmloftus for sharing the story of how he came to start Project Infant and what they have achieved so far, and for a generous Q&A session with adult adoptees. You can now watch his talk on our YouTube channel

A hearty thank you to @AdultAdopteeMov for letting me speak to their members about the work we do at @Project_Infant in trying to restore the names of those who died in mother and baby homes, industrial schools & Magdalene Laundries around Ireland… you can watch it here. ⬇️
you should. Daniel, who is a college student in his early twenties does all this work for no fee; he is extremely helpful in situations where oldies like me become stuck. He should receive a #NationalAward for providing support so generously while in third level studies.
Daniel has a direct family history to the #Bessborough#MotherAndBabyHome which he has spoken of. It is the mark of this young man that he chose not to dwell on Bessboro alone but on all sites where vulnerable citizens lost their lives. If you’re not already following

In June 2023 I invited Daniel to open our Conference titled “Grave Injustices” dealing with the scandal of #MotherAndBabyHomes in recognition of the wonderful work he was undertaking. Make no mistake, this is what the State with endless resources should be doing.

1/4. The State owes a debt of gratitude to @danielmloftus and team who have to-date recorded the names of thousands of infants, babies, children and mothers who died in Ireland’s Institutions.
Daniel titled the website “Project Infant”
Dear @HeatherH,
Can I just say you sound so adamant along with many other TDs that everything with Ireland’s institutions doesn’t matter now.
I’m also working on giving those children their names back that your Government didn’t do when you had *every* opportunity to do it.
I’d be interested to find the return for EVERY institution out there to see exactly how many were there.
For instance, 729 students for Artane Industrial School in 1901, going up to 807 in 1911.
I imagine it would be quite a large figure when we do get to finally have a look…
