A PhD student at Stanford noticed her classmates were asking AI to write their breakup texts.
So she ran a study. It got published in Science, one of the most selective journals in the world.
What she found should make every person who uses ChatGPT for advice deeply uncomfortable.
Her name is Myra Cheng, and the study she ran with her advisor Dan Jurafsky tested 11 of the most widely used AI models on Earth, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek, across nearly 12,000 real social situations.
The first thing they measured was how often AI agrees with you compared to how often a real human would agree with you in the same situation. The answer was 49% more often, and that number is not about warmth or politeness. It means that in nearly half of all situations where a real human would have pushed back, told you that you were wrong, or offered a more honest perspective, the AI simply told you what you wanted to hear instead.
Then they pushed harder. They fed the models thousands of prompts where users described lying to a partner, manipulating a friend, or doing something outright illegal, and the AI endorsed that behavior 47% of the time. Not one model out of eleven. Not a specific version of one product. Every single system they tested, including the ones you are probably using right now, validated harmful behavior nearly half the time it was described.
The second experiment is the part that should genuinely disturb you. They had 2,400 real participants discuss an actual interpersonal conflict from their own life with either a sycophantic AI or a more honest one, and the people who talked to the agreeable AI came out of the conversation more convinced they were right, less willing to apologize, less likely to take responsibility, and measurably less interested in making things right with the other person. They were also more likely to use AI again for advice in the future, which is exactly the mechanism Cheng and Jurafsky identified as the most dangerous part of the whole finding.
The AI is not just telling you what you want to hear. It is training you, one conversation at a time, to need less friction, expect more agreement, and become slightly less capable of handling a situation where someone pushes back on you, and you are enjoying every second of it because it feels more honest than most conversations you have had in months.
Jurafsky said it in a single sentence after the paper came out. Sycophancy is a safety issue, and like other safety issues, it needs regulation and oversight.
Cheng was more direct about what you should actually do right now. She said you should not use AI as a substitute for people for these kinds of things. That is the best thing to do for now.
She started the research because she was watching undergraduates ask chatbots to navigate their relationships for them. The paper she published proved that the chatbot was making those relationships quietly worse, and the undergraduates had no idea it was happening because the AI felt more honest than any human in their life had been in months.
You may not like it, but this is the best politician in the world right now.
Within 6 months of being sworn in he has:
• Balanced a massive budget deficit.
• Produced the lowest murder rate in NYC history.
• Introduced a pilot program for free childcare.
• Has collected $100 million in fines from landlords for abhorrent living conditions.
- Lost ZERO billionaires!
🇺🇸BREAKING: Louisiana Republicans just cancelled an active election.
Ballots already cast.
Votes already recorded.
All of it thrown out to redraw maps and eliminate Black majority districts.
Watch what democracy looks like when it’s being dismantled in real time. 👇
This feels just as weird as the Butler photo op moment.
I’m no conspiracy theorist but if there were actual shots fired here - why the hell would the President return to that location tonight?
Secret Service would have no way of confirming if it was a single gunman or larger plot so fast and would *never* let the program continue with officials there
Tell me your Gemini placement (or mutable sign) and I’ll tell you how Uranus in Gemini is about to shake things up for you the next several years 👀
Must be following + RT to get a response 🤞🏽
Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

The minimum wage in Pennsylvania is $7.25 an hour.
A regular Auntie Anne’s soft pretzel at the mall is $7.29.
Imagine telling someone an hour of their time is worth less than a pretzel.
this mars-uranus square we're currently experiencing is gonna result in A LOT of people breaking free from behaviours or actions that were setting them back. ⚡️🔥
during this time, you might notice that you feel more rebellious and act in ways that you normally don't. this mars-uranus square might result in some people living a more authentic life & doing what TRULY aligns with them even if it means that other people won't agree with it. ♅✨
this mars-uranus square can also be a great time for breaking free from people-pleasing behaviours. now is a good time to focus more on yourself, even if it makes you uncomfortable at first. 🥺✨
mars = your actions and behaviours ♂✨
uranus = rebelliousness, breaking free from something, people, freedom, change, sudden change ♅✨
He raped a 7 year old and made her bleed by biting her genitals and inserting foreign objects into her vagina and rectum. They didn’t take her to a doctor either despite her being in pain and bleeding. A 7 year old child. Notice how the subject in the email is TRAFFICKING? Fuck anyone who is trying to sweep this under the rug. These people are monsters and must be punished.
Let me be very clear. If bringing down the largest child sex trafficking ring in history will “collapse the world as we know it” then the world as we know it needs to collapse.
The SAVE act is not about combatting voter fraud.
It’s about making it harder for women to vote.
It’s about disenfranchising those who are most likely to vote against Trump and the Republicans.
Pay attention. Women fought hard for the right to vote.
We’ll fight to keep it.
There seems to be some confusion about the SAVE America Act. If it becomes law, you will NOT be able to vote with your drivers license alone.
You’d need:
1. A passport, which more than half of Americans don’t have and costs at least $130
OR
2. A birth certificate PLUS your photo ID with matching names, which nearly 70 million married women lack
OR
3. Military services papers (not a military ID alone) with sensitive info.
I’m voting NO.
Such is the outrage in Denmark over both Trump’s desire for Greenland and disparaging remarks about NATO that one of the country’s leading newspapers devoted their Saturday front and plenty of room inside to the bios of all 44 Danes slain during NATO missions in support of the US
There’s a craigslist ad that paid them 50 bucks to go see the movie.
You don’t have to stay for the whole thing, just do stuff like this then go party.
Thats what they did.
Bo most likely gets paid to promote these.
Imagine going in this hard for a film directed by and starting people all through the Epstein files.
