Why might those in power seek to demonize the richest man in the world who they have no control over???

Cognitive dissonance is rarely resolved by facts or evidence. When someone's identity is intertwined with a belief system, any contradictory information may feel like an attack.

This can lead to projection, gaslighting, and a strong sense of righteous indignation.

Imagine a future where, as Trump proposes, those earning under $150k no longer pay taxes, yet the government operates at a surplus, along with creating more prosperity and opportunities.... logically, this should be a cause for celebration across political lines.

However, entrenched tribalism means that for some, even utopia can be suspect if associated with certain figures like Republicans, Elon Musk, or PresidentTrump.

The Left has come to perceive itself as the moral high ground, believing they're guardians of justice. Losing power can be seen as a deep injustice, justifying extreme measures to restore their vision. This reaction, though, can sometimes manifest as projection or gaslighting.

Breaking through this kind of identity-based resistance might require a cultural or spiritual shift, one that transcends politics and touches on our shared humanity.
