@mental_willness I think the most depressing and straightforward answer is that interstellar travel is either impossible or unfeasible. Maybe the laws of physics just dont allow something like a warp drive to exist.
Space is really really really big.
@Midiaou7 Indeed. Geologically speaking, sapience evolved on Earth practically yesterday, and we spent hundreds of thousands of years with modern brains as hunter gatherers living our best lives. Who's to say sapient aliens aren't doing the same?
@gwinshin tbf if Bina was evil she probably could do something like this. Trilunar authority is no joke. Ostensibly she's stronger than all 4 shades. Luckily she's chill and doesn't want to use her power recklessly. The other Harbingers were glazed to high heaven tho
@Ada2987_art I don't have much of a horse in this race but it does annoy me a little that literally any whale species is brought up as examples for alternate "whale monster" designs when both the pokemon and palworld whales are clearly delphinids.
That art is full of mostly baleen whales.
@oversaltedcat I started playing last year on Mualani's rerun and scrounged up primos to pull her because I thought she was cute and the surfing mechanic was fun in the character trial. I had no idea at the time that she's the niche 1-hit Nuke5000 and I don't regret it.
I've been rotating a paleolithic fantasy story in my brain. Here my protagonists have taken shelter for the night, unaware that a pair of maneating hominins have discovered their cave.
@internet_hottie I always figured agriculture developed out of necessity in some places because the end of the LGM put us in a sort of ecological post-apocalypse. No need to settle down, plant grass and live at the mercy of the seasons when the steppes teemed with tasty megafauna prior to that.
@miserybizniz333@DarkLeafCoven The wild beast versions of the form you find in Zuldazar are called Ankylodons, so it's pretty overt. I absolutely agree though, direhorn should have been the tank form. It's a dinosaur with a literal shield for a face, why is it not the tank form??
@miserybizniz333@DarkLeafCoven It's actually an ankylosaur (the armored dino with a club tail) but blizz were too lazy to make tail animations for the bear rig so everyone thinks its a turtle.
@casuallyexists Flins' eng VA said he finished recording about a year before 6.0 came out. Foreign language localization is one of the last steps in a gamedev cycle afaik. Making games takes a lot of time. Hoyo's probably already finished making Snez and currently working on whatever comes next.
We can adapt and rebuild and try to make a future in the broken world they will leave behind, but the damage they're doing to the biosphere can never be undone.
Thinking about how we're speedrunning a re-enactment of the PermianโTriassic extinction event so that a tiny minority of elites can compete for the high-score in an imaginary Numbers Go Up game.
In a few decades all the cruel, destructive morons who allowed this to happen will be dead from old age, and all the imaginary numbers they hoarded will have been for nothing.
Something interesting about those who push for gen ai imagery in concept art is that they think of objects (clothes, patterns, garments, etc) as devoid of history, of sociocultural context: to them the illustration is an idealised commodity no different than toilet paper
