Congratulations to the Sector, officers staff and reps for organising such a lively and valuable AGM.
So many issues in such an essential Sector and @ProspectUnion is ideally placed to work with stakeholders to progress the voice of a skilled and committed workforce
Great to have Tom Rutland MP speak at our Heritage Sector AGM today.
Tom spoke about his work on the @CommonsCMS committee, and heard from our reps about the key workplace issues facing members in the sector.
As the union for tech workers we are extremely worried that new job-cutting programmes may be aimed at those with protected characteristics, and the scrapping of fact-checking processes could result in workers being exposed to even more extreme and harmful content.
This announcement is welcome and hopefully demonstrates the value that arts and heritage bring to society.
But culture is not just about artefacts and buildings - it’s about people. Some of this funding must be used to address endemic low pay and end job losses in the sector.
