@dennisihong@DanielSLoeb1 I would say you might be totally wrong if the future plays out that way (I suspect not, but by definition possible). But no evidence of this today. And they have been speaking in a zero sum way for years or decades for Bernie et al. It’s not AI, it’s an ideology.
@dennisihong@DanielSLoeb1 “See” and “feels” are the key words. It’s easy to feel like things are zero sum if most of what gets pumped into your brain is content saying that’s the case from professors or politicians. The reality is it’s exactly the opposite; Bezos’s wealth does not mean they have less.
@realEstateTrent Can you mention a couple projects that historically would take months that now take hours? You mentioned CRM but that is more like taking 2 minutes to log manually and now is done automatically, not saving months.
@alexsongis That would make more sense as a theory if this data didn’t have other groups that had a much tougher life with the Great Depression, world war, existential fears during the Cold War, actual rationing and lack of food, etc.
@realEstateTrent This sounds nice but is financially incorrect, or at least incomplete thinking. The “tax hit” is just the same amount you depreciated prior. Meanwhile, you took that DTL and were able to compound using an interest free loan with no covenants and the duration of your choosing.
@PrefShares Yeah but road shows don't work anymore, why is that hard to understand?
He's saying the opposite of what the value investing community has known to be true - it works because so few are doing it. Investors should be happy if there is less competition (there's still plenty).
@GSpier@marcelolima@modestproposal1 FYI there are many accounts on here who are anonymous who are finance professionals working at hedge funds or other institutions where they are not allowed to post on social media discussing investments. That’s a big reason for anon accounts on FinTwit.
@InnocenceCapit1@altcap@BG2Pod Also, every actually revolutionary tech product also had an attached hype cycle / mania. Railroads, cars, radio, etc. You can be right that AI is massive and still overpay for assets / back the wrong horse (which is the modal outcome for investors).
@SMBpete @sweatystartup@baldridgecpa@BrentBeshore A little old but can you send me a DM on this? I’m currently looking for PT practices and was hoping to connect.
