Since 1975 we've campaigned for #Decrim of prostitution, sex workers' rights & safety & resources to get out of prostitution if we want to. #MakeAllWomenSafe
Criminalisation of sex work pushes women into greater danger, forces us into unfamiliar places, and makes it easier for violent offenders to prey on us. We demand decriminalisation. No more lives should be lost because women's lives are worth less than enforcing unjust laws.
Justice for the victims of Simon Levy means more than a conviction. It must mean a change in the law so that sex workers' safety is prioritised over criminalisation.
Niki Adams: "We want to see real change. Violent men target sex workers because they think they'll get away with it. We face saturation policing and no protection. We need decriminalisation so sex workers can report violence without fear of arrest or deportation."
Wonderful Mikey Madison gets #Oscars & uses occasion to help make sex workers stronger & more protected by recognizing & honoring our community; director Sean Baker calls for decriminalisation so we are safer & have rights like other workers. Thank you! https://t.co/3W32oKwTwY
Listen to us talk about Anora and why we urgently need the full decriminalisation of sex work on @BBCRadio4’s “The World Tonight” at 30 minutes in:

1/3 🔊 December 17th is the International Day to End Violence Against Sx Workers.
But how can we end the violence when those meant to protect us are the ones causing it?
For IDEVASW we joined @ukdecrimnow@ProstitutesColl to protest against the laws that harm sex workers:
“Violence faced by sex workers is a violence that is not only perpetuated by individuals, but by institutions and the state itself.” (1/14)
Hope to see many of you on the 19th. If you have any questions, please get in touch, DM or email: [email protected]
Stay tuned for an update on the petition debate and next steps . . .
Update & call to action: We passed the 1,250 signature mark on our petition demanding Brighton & Hove City Council prioritises sex workers’ safety! This means that the petition will be presented & debated at the next Full Council meeting on the 19th December from 4.30pm
The Council meeting comes two days after International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers, so we will also be remembering those we’ve lost to violence, and demanding an end to poverty and criminalisation which puts us in danger.
Yesterday, Scotland For Decrim protested outside Scottish Parliament to demonstrate sex workers opposition to the proposed introduction of the Nordic Model in Scotland.
Nordic Model laws force us to work in isolation, in areas far from public view and w/o our colleagues.

@ProstitutesColl also speaks extremely powerfully about the harmful impact that cautions have on sex workers’ lives.

Poverty pushes many into sex work, only for the state to punish them for trying to get by.
We must tackle poverty, repeal laws endangering sex workers, and remove cautions and convictions from their records.
I spoke on @BBCWomansHour about why decriminalisation is long overdue:
