A truly wonderful person and an exceptional lawyer. Even in the midst of demanding court cases he always took the time to patiently explain events to us in non-lawyerly language.
It's #NationalTreeDay!
Today, we're grateful for the many amazing forests across Victoria that will be safe from logging from 2024.
Though there's still a lot of work to do, and many forests still under threat, this is certainly a day worth celebrating.

#BREAKING EJA and the VFA have just filed an ACCC complaint alleging that VicForests is misleading consumers through greenwashing.
It's time to abolish VicForests, once and for all.

Wow, 26 hollows have been counted in this tree. Security guy just kicked me off the site while I was inspecting. He said tree is dangerous. Might be a case of good old Aussie #arboraphobia à la Robin Boyd.
It is essential that false claims like those on the VicForests website are exposed and held to account.

Good news:
If VicForests tries a last minute cut & run logging operation at Mt Stirling, there will be blockades. Thats the last thing any of us need as we prepare for the end of native forest logging.
Let's hope reason prevails, @IngridStitt
There are only 5 days left of our Chuffed fundraiser for Victoria's forests. And for the next 5 days, all donations will continue to be matched by a very generous supporter. 🌳
This is an opportunity to have your donation DOUBLED. 🐨

Lawyers from Environmental Justice Australia have filed a greenwashing complaint w/ the ACCC on behalf of the VFA against VicForests, with overwhelming evidence logging kills threatened wildlife, degrades biodiversity, & makes forests more prone to fires. https://t.co/MwjgnNYMxa
We're back at the wonderful Melbourne Farmers Markets this coming Sunday, chatting with community members about our work protecting Victoria's native forests, and both the threats and opportunities they face in the years to come. 🌿
Serious questions of illegality surround forestry in Lutruwita / Tasmania's native forests. We are taking action, alleging criminal logging by Forestry Tasmania.
Native species continue to decline because of the state’s lax regulatory regime & lacklustre enforcement.
Australia’s forgotten predators: #quolls
We focus on:
- extinct #thylacines
- naturalised #dingoes
- invasive #cats and #foxes
but neglect these incredible endemic #dasyurids
Time to focus on recovering these incredible animals.
Today Dr Colette Harmsen was jailed for three months for peacefully defending Tasmania’s native forests. Colette was protesting the logging of habitat for swift parrots, masked owls and Tas devils. The real criminals are the LNP/Lab MPs supporting logging and anti protest laws.
Snow Gums won't be axed for 'better view'!
We united w/ @MacedonRangesSC locals & nature groups to push back on a plan to remove the Memorial Cross Snow Gums.
Last night the Shire rejected a permit to clear native vegetation!
These Woodland giants are safe.
