I do hope @ronadougallnews was laughing at my joke and not my pitch for funding at the @ScotPropFed yesterday!
Was great to get to present a new multi-site housing JV opportunity that we will be bringing to the market soon with capacity for over 1000 homes across 12 sites.
Your regular reminder that:
In 2007 there was no vote to introduce the pay system
In 2017 we didn’t appeal &. we delivered o ur manifesto pledge to settle the claims that Labour had battled in court for a decade.
In 2026 we are developing the new system alongside our TU’s
Our empty homes programme and use of CPO powers is bringing problem flats back into use across the city. Working with RSL partners, we target homes that are causing blight to neighbours and local communities, adding to the city's available housing stock.
This is a great example of the impact we are having with our empty homes team. Taking what was a blight on the local community and turning it into a safe and secure home that will change a family's life.
Funding Secured for Bellgrove Station 👇Delighted that after years of campaigning myself and SNP colleagues have managed to ensure funding has been secured to improve accessibility at Bellgrove station https://t.co/723MHvvusV
This is the impact that the cut to SPF funding is having in communities. The Labour government could sort this tomorrow by changing it from capital to revenue and allow us to distribute it to organisations, giving them time to create a transition plan

Having a little slippage in your build programme is one thing, not spending nearly half your budget is another.
If Edinburgh can't or won't build houses then the money should be reallocated to Glasgow, the area of greatest housing need in the country

The Scottish Government has made the right decision in moving to multi year funding for housing, but we need to be building as fast as we can and Glasgow is in a position to deliver now if others can't.

The party of "labour". Run by millionaires, in the interest billionaires. Let's see how their bus franchising support plays out, is that what the second instalment is contingent on?
Seems incredible that in the midst of a housing emergency a Labour run council would be handing back £millions for building houses.
I will always be happy to take additional funding if surrounding council's can't spend it, but the fact that the...1/3

Living standards in the UK are flat as a pancake and Westminster governments are unable and unwilling to address that.
Independence is about having the full powers to tackle the cost of living crisis - and it’s for people in Scotland to decide.
Yeah @AnasSarwar calls it bickering, I would call it standing up for our city which actually delivered for the people of Glasgow. Maybe if Anas grew a backbone he would have similar discussions with his Westminster bosses whose policies are driving Glasgows Homelessness situation
Glasgow Council recommended Easterhouse and Barlanark for this funding in the North East after we were denied previous Leveling Up Funding at the last minute. Now despite having ready to go projects, Greater Easterhouse has been shafted by both a Tory and Labour government
This week Cllr @RuairiKelly_ launched a design contest for the two demolished sites at Albert Cross. Cllr @ZenGhani joined him this morning to talk about the impact these fires had and their ambitions for the area
We had a really interesting day yesterday at our Child Friendly City Summit where professionals in education, health & social care, and early childhood shared their experience with planners and developers on how we better design neighbourhoods for children and caregivers.
Just asked a question at housing/economy committee which has just exposed the UK Lab Gov replacement of shared prosperity funding with Pride in Place will cost the city at least £6m. This means projects ending/ jobs lost due to funding cuts by Labour. This needs urgent attention
Not content with exposing themselves on camera already this week, Glasgow Labour have had their pants pulled down by their own head office who have short changed Scotland and not even let the branch office know

Bit of an odd one today at Contracts and Property Committee as @Glasgow_Labour and Independent/Your Party/Glasgow Socialist Group councillors vote to postpone the sale of land for housing. Good thing the housing emergency is over I guess...
