More than 300 illegal ATVs and dirt bikes have been seized since I took office.

Today, I joined Chief Perez to highlight the work of the Providence Police Department’s Neighborhood Response Team and the progress we’re making to address illegal ATV activity, reckless driving, pop-up parties and quality-of-life concerns across our city.

We’re also working with our Parks Department to help protect Roger Williams Park from late-night takeovers and illegal activity, while keeping it safe and welcoming for families, neighbors and visitors.

I’ll continue listening to residents and working with our public safety partners to make sure every neighborhood in Providence feels safe.

Keep things grounded. Only ground and hand-held sparklers are permitted in Rhode Island.

All other fireworks including firecrackers, projectile devices, and any device that makes a "boom" are prohibited.

Due to the Cape Verdean Independence Day Festival and Independence Day Celebration, expect road closures and heavy traffic around India Point Park beginning at 7 AM.

🔸 India St. (Portugal Pkwy.) closed: South Main St. to Gano St.
🔸 I-195 East India Point off-ramp closed
🔸 Gano St. on-ramp to I-195 West remains open
🔸 Ferry Terminal & Community Boating Center access only via checkpoint at South Main & India St.
