But ultimately yes, when you go to someone for a service, lets say your plumber, and you listen to his plumbing advice or opinion on lets say a new toilet, do you wanna listen to him talk about politics? This is NO different.

However ( I can only speak for myself ), I personally don't want to hear about politics from a gaming youtuber, the same way I dont wanna hear about gaming issues from a politician ( loot box stuff etc being the exception ).

@RoadhouseMatt @AngryJoeShow Of course he does. He has the right to talk, just as I have the right to not listen. Were not disputing rights. I'm saying as a consumer of his work, I follow him for that. If hes going to use this platform to deviate from that, I'll simply unfollow.

@TheThirdTake @AngryJoeShow Gaming companies often use tactics like politics to drive sales. Not because they believe in the idea, but because it better lines their pockets. I dont believe manipulation should be rewarded and thusly i " speak with my wallet ", likewise I don't follow shill creators.

I however as a consumer wouldn't ( knowingly ) purchase a politically charmed game. I dont want RL politics involved with my games.

@TheThirdTake @AngryJoeShow Well first of all, I never played the division so I dont have first hand knowledge of anything about it. However, if the creator of the game is saying 1) this is based off my experiences in life 2) this game portrays how bad those things are. Then that would be political.

@TheThirdTake @AngryJoeShow Correct. Because its just a game you've designed. Since its your creation you get to say what the motivation is and you get to lay out the context. The elements may be derived from what you've experienced, but if your intention isn't politically motivated, then its not political.

Unless SE specifically states " the game is politically charged and a form of expression to represent our modern climate " or something to that effect, its not political. Any inference you as a player or a third party is strictly anecdotal and reflective of your own bias

Joe is a person, representing his brand, claiming political affiliation and pushing rhetoric on his audience. Thats directly political, while ff7 is not.

@TheThirdTake @AngryJoeShow Then it's not. It could quite simply be a storyboard product with no message whatsoever. Or perhaps 1 guy pitches the idea, the team likes it and goes with it. To that one guy it may be political, but for everyone else it's just a game. Making it largely non-political.

Just because there is a political theme in a game, doesn't mean its political in nature. Has the company itself said the game was made with a political narrative in mind? Because if not..

@TheThirdTake @AngryJoeShow Shooter emulators are how the game functions. Nothing political about that. Even if you consider story arc, that's the premise within the game, its only political if your goal is to spread a message about politics. If you're just telling a story, its not political.

@JoeDaw_ @AngryJoeShow Just because you can't understand why someone does something, doesnt make it less relevant or somehow meaningless. What i did came from a place of decency. Didn't like what he was doing, was tired of it, told him so he knew why I left, then left. Its really simple my dude.

@JoeDaw_ @AngryJoeShow I announced it because it was relevant to say. When you dont like something you tell someone. When you have a bad experience with a brand or product, you inform someone. He deserved to know why I unfollowed him, even if he doesn't care or if it largely doesn't matter.
