@DougWahl1 Emotionally, yes. Rationally, no. It wouldn't serve any purpose beyond being petty. We don't need to stoop to their level, it would make it harder to garner support on the global stage
@arabking1921@CloolessPodcast Generative fill literally is AI? Like do you think someone came up with a mathematical formula to generate realistic looking assets? No, obviously not, they trained a neural network to generate information that isn't there
If you accept that Canada should give in to Trump’s false narratives about our country to avoid economic damage in the short-term, what about the next set of lies? And the next? And the ones after that? And the ones after that? Do you think the demands will ever end?

@Tal_Shiar_Degen@maxfawcett Except the effect it has on the renewables industry would be significant, and we'd be leading by example. We'd have significantly more energy independence as well, which is incredibly important during rising global tensions. We also could only benefit economically
@LipClifford@IAMSMRT1@jillyonthehilly I hope, for your sake, you don't experience even a fraction of the harm you wish on other people. Though, perhaps then you'd develop some amount of empathy, you fucking disgrace
@LipClifford@IAMSMRT1@jillyonthehilly Except they literally are. Trump signed an executive order to move all trans-women to male prisons. Look up what v-coding is if you don't know
@MrJoKeR604 I despise Elon Musk but if that were to happen, not only would my monthly costs rise, but my internet quality would fall DRAMATICALLY. To the point that I would likely have to either quit university or move
@kalikkoenn Honestly? I'd wager the poor education and the strength of the nation are key contributors. Poor education makes people easy to manipulate, and with rising COL/falling QOL, people are upset, so the idea of restoring the US to its former glory is what they played on
@Shortcakeberrys@soleisdaylight But, again, that's not what artificial intelligence is. With that logic, literally any and every Turing machine would be classified as AI. Artificial Intelligence is a specific area of study IN computer science, but deterministic, provable algorithms are not AI
@Shortcakeberrys@soleisdaylight If you have any desire for me to explain in detail, I'd be more than happy to as it's my targeted area of study! I don't have enough characters to do any justice to my explanation in a tweet
@Shortcakeberrys@soleisdaylight Whoever taught you that was either oversimplifying at the cost of communicating incorrect information, or didn't understand what AI actually is, and thought it was all just well defined algorithms. Actual AI relates to function estimation, which is incredibly expensive
