GCS schools on the traditional academic calendar will begin the 2020-21 year on Aug 17 with 9 weeks of remote instruction. GCS is still considering how students will return to the classroom after the 9 weeks.

GCS issued guidelines regarding the grading process for the remainder of the school year. In keeping w/guidance from the state, students won't receive letter grades during distance learning but can earn a grade of "pass" by completing assignments online. https://t.co/5ibQLJsx5V
(1/3) Earlier today, city and county leaders announced a “stay at home” declaration for Guilford County, effective Friday at 5 p.m. This means that GCS schools and buildings will be closed to the public and most employees will continue to work from home.
During the past two weeks, GCS has shifted learning onto a digital platform for 73,000 students and 5,000 teachers, shared more than 100,000 meals and distributed more than 8,400 laptops and tablets so students could access learning remotely.
