A la atención de la directiva, equipo de producción y locutores de @iHeartRadio y la emisora que realizaron la transmisión

Nos dirigimos a ustedes en representación de la comunidad global de seguidores del grupo musical para expresar nuestra profunda indignación ante las recientes declaraciones emitidas durante su transmisión respecto a los integrantes de la agrupación y su público.

Durante el programa, los locutores hicieron uso de un tono despectivo para burlarse y distorsionar deliberadamente los nombres de los artistas ("Jang Jukes", "Jukes Jin Cook"), acompañándolo de expresiones de desprecio hacia su identidad e idioma. Ridiculizar la pronunciación de nombres no occidentales no es un chiste inofensivo; constituye una falta de respeto cultural y una microagresión que perpetúa prejuicios sobre los artistas asiáticos en los medios internacionales.

Asimismo, rechazamos categóricamente la descalificación generalizada hacia los seguidores del grupo, a quienes se catalogó repetidamente como "perdedores". Si bien comprendemos que los medios de comunicación expresen opiniones, el insulto gratuito no equivale a la crítica periodística o al entretenimiento.

Por lo anterior, exigimos formalmente:
—Una aclaración y disculpa pública: Que los locutores involucrados reconozcan el tono despectivo y la insensibilidad cultural mostrada hacia los integrantes de BTS.

—Respeto a la identidad de los artistas: Que el medio adopte un estándar mínimo de profesionalismo al referirse a figuras públicas internacionales, respetando la pronunciación de sus nombres y su origen.

A la vez revisen con detenimiento la conducta, ética y profesionalismo de las personas encargadas de conducir sus transmisiones.

Quienes tienen acceso a un micrófono y a una audiencia tienen la responsabilidad mínima de informarse correctamente y expresarse con respeto. Permitir que los conductores recurran a la burla de nombres, a la insensibilidad cultural y a los insultos directos hacia el público no solo demuestra una falta de preparación, sino que afecta seriamente la credibilidad del propio medio.

Exigimos que realicen su trabajo con profesionalismo y que establezcan filtros adecuados para evitar que personal sin el debido rigor ético continúe emitiendo comentarios despectivos al aire.

RM's Album 'Right Place Wrong Person' was voted by Billboard's staff as the #1 best K-Pop Album of 2024! Genius named RM's “Domodachi” ft. Little Simz as one of the best songs of 2024 and RM's 'LOST' was named by Vimeo staff as one of the best short films on the internet! In 2018, RM was awarded the 5th-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea for his contributions to spreading Korean culture. On June 1, 2023, RM was appointed the PR Ambassador for South Korea's Ministry of National Defense Agency Remains Excavation and Investigation Team. On June 20, 2026, RM was appointed the first-ever Global Ambassador of the National Museum of Korea!

RM is also a famous Art collector, known for his notable art pieces including Roni Horn's glass sculpture, KAWS figurines and Takeshi Murakami's "Flower Ball (3-D), Kindergarten (2007)". In 2020, RM added to his collection "Disappearing Hometown 730", a luminescent landscape by South Korean artist Joung Young Ju. In June 2025, after his enlistment in the Army, RM was named Global Ambassador for Samsung Art TV, championing the global art scene. RM held a special talk hosted by Samsung Electronics at Art Basel along with Clément Delépine, Director of Art Basel Paris, featuring the artist Basim Magdy! From October 3, 2026 to February 7, 2027, RM will co-curate RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the first museum exhibition drawn from his personal art collection!

RM’s main fashion endorsement is Bottega Veneta! In March 2023 he became the house’s first celebrity ambassador under Matthieu Blazy, causing a sensation and seated in front row at the Milan for Spring/Summer 2026. Gucci has dressed him for BTS tour looks, and he has starred on the cover of Vogue Korea, Harper's Bazaar, Dazed Korea & GQ Japan among others!

RM is a very active philanthropist and donated ₩100 million (US$85,810.58) on his 25th birthday to the Seoul Samsun School to help hearing-impaired students receive music education. In December 2020, the Arts Council of Korea named him one of its ten 2020 Patrons of the Arts in recognition of his ₩100 million donation to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art for the printing and distribution of various rare art books to schools and libraries in rural and mountainous regions. Since September 2021, RM has donated ₩100 million each year towards the preservation and restoration of cultural artifacts overseas, through the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) and the Overseas Cultural Heritage Foundation. His first (private) donation, was used for treatment of a hwarot owned by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) at the time, while his 2022 donation was used for the creation of an art brochure introducing Korean paintings. In September 2023, he donated ₩100 million to the National Forensic Service of South Korea, to develop forensic science in the country. In September 2024, on his 30th birthday, RM donated ₩100 million (US$87,416.41) to the Funds for Veterans to provide welfare and treatment to uniformed service personnel and their families. In March 2025, RM donated ₩100 million (US$87,416.41) to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association for wildfire relief efforts after wildfire damages in the Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam regions! On his 31st birthday, RM gave ₩200 million total, ₩100 million each to Asan Medical Center and Korea University Medical Center for low-income patient care and hospital services.
