@RyanmcgregorCHI It’s tough to watch a deeply wounded team. Hawks need to string together a winning streak in the latter half of the month when they get their guys back.
@RyanmcgregorCHI Can we get Byram to follow your advice? Can we get Spencer Knight to go lights out? Hawks better go simple and intense these next two games.
@Harian_Mossa I made the mistake of making a measured assessment of Blashill—a good but not great coach who botched the beginning of the season w/too much experimentation—that wasn’t enough, though. Firing coaches after three games after a 10 point increase the season before is perfectly sane.
Any Chicago Blackhawks fans looking to fire Jeff Blashill--here's your chance to do it better. I created the game just for you in Chicago Hockey Head Coach Simulator. Free demo and full game at https://t.co/zaa0GPEvbx
My desired #Blackhawks lines for Saturday:
Greene - Nazar - Kane
Bertuzzi - Kantserov - Frondell
Teravainen - Moore - Lardis
Smith - Donato - Greenway
Byram - Levshunov
Vlasic - Kaiser
Korchinski - Cole
Call me crazy, but Byram/Vlasic hasn’t worked, not a permanent change. Wild to say but Arty has been their best D. Greene has earned the chance to add some stability in the top 6. My only hesitation is that I preached consistency, and this goes against that.
@HerionCalvin@CrashDummy12x I agree that it's embarrassing, but we're 6 days removed from "hey, our incomplete roster just beat the Blues in preseason", and now examining a span of 3 days quite intently. Put Nazar-Roman-Kane back together, put Byram strong side, and maybe even put in Korch--and wait a week.
@RyanmcgregorCHI He’s likely more focused, healthy, energized, and team-goal oriented than he has been since 2020ish. The goal and the smart plays/entries on the power play on Tuesday were just a preview.
@RyanmcgregorCHI I worry about the top line's speed, but Kane was still like in the top 70th-75th percentile in the league with speed last year. Fans have to recalibrate expectations--things are imperfect and clunky without Bedsy. No fairy tale start. The bottom six may fit like a glove, though.
@RinksideGeneral@JoshPointo0h I don't think Rinzel's ready for top pair minutes at all, BUT I also think he's the best option for the role to partner with Byram to get the most out of Byram. Rinzel's got the size and tools to be a solid all-around defenseman, but that's just my biased opinion.
@RinksideGeneral I get the logic behind "put your two best defensemen who complement each other," but is Byram on his off-hand going to be one of the two best? And there's a stronger line of logic behind "put your best defenseman you're paying 12mil to in a position to succeed."
