After a long hike through misty trails, I was lucky enough to witness a breathtaking sea of clouds from the summit of Mt. Hinode. Even though I’ve climbed this mountain several times, it was my first time experiencing a cloud sea from its peak.

Today’s hike was my second time on the Hikage-sawa trail. Although I didn’t see many flowers blooming along the way, I was lucky to explore a lovely trail with a cozy atmosphere. I’ve come to realize that every visit to the Takao area brings new takeaways. #高尾山
I was able to enjoy hundreds, even thousands, of flowers blooming along the trail.
It was my first time on the Ura-Takao trails, and I found them even more rewarding than the main route of Mt. Takao.

This time’s hike was to #仏果山 and #高取山, located in the so-called Sōshū Alps. There are observation towers at each summit, offering stunning 360° panoramic views. The snow-covered Tanzawa ridges were especially beautiful.

Have you ever experienced a transformation? That’s how I felt today when I opened my car door and heard the tweets of the uguisu, after driving for over two hours while listening to jazz on my car radio. #東秩父#堂平山#笠山
Mt. Tenjiku is named after the place where the Buddhist priest Sanzou Houshi traveled with Son Goku to obtain genuine scriptures. From the summit, I enjoyed beautiful views of Tokyo’s downtown and found a sense of inner peace. #武蔵五日#天竺山
The North Takao Ridge is relatively tougher than the main course between Mt. Takao and Mt. Jimba, making it suitable for intermediate hikers. Despite the challenge, I enjoyed a peaceful hike with picturesque views of Mt. Fuji and vibrant autumn foliage.

I was able to enjoy bright landscapes stretching from the east, with Tokyo’s downtown, to the west, featuring Mt. Fuji and Sagami Bay. While the autumn foliage was visible, the clear and snowy appearance of Mt. Fuji made me feel the arrival of winter.

At the base of the Mt. Mitou, autumn foliage was at its peak, but the summit of it had already been engulfed in a winter atmosphere. I highly recommend visiting Mitou Otaki, a beautiful waterfall near the parking lot of the base. #三頭山#紅葉#autumn foliage
Approximately two months after fracturing my right hand fingers, today’s hike served as another step in my rehabilitation. I chanced to be able to enjoy a festival featuring the Sengoku era. An old firearm from the Sengoku period, a matchlock gun was demonstrated at the festival.

Finally, I was able to visit Yakushima and reach Jomon Sugi, a part of the World Natural Heritage, after five hours of trekking. Truly awe-inspiring!

With only two weekends left before the Yakushima trek, we went on a preliminary hike to Mt. Tounodake. Unfortunately, our trek was covered with thick clouds throughout, but we were able to gain meaningful insights from this hike.

Now that the rainy season has ended, I guess many hikers are rushing to the mountains. I’m also one of them and went to Mt. Hirugatake. The contrast between the blue sky and white clouds over the mountains was so impressive.
