#Clinicalpsychologists wanted for participation in a delphi study looking at assessment of intellectual disabilities in minoritiesed groups. Only takes 5-10 minutes to complete the first survey!
Seen a shocking number of these guides about, even from trainees who've only been on the course a matter of weeks. Totally inappropriate to take advantage of people's desperation. Similar post in the DClinPsy applicants FB page from Tuesday with other resources.
🧵In response to the new paid for guides circulating that claim to help with the #DClinPsy application and interview process we’ve made a quick list of free resources. Please feel free to add more or link to other threads we might have missed so we can RT! #ClassClinPsych

If you're working with a client with dementia please encourage carers to set up the Herbert Protocol. Last night my gran went AWOL & police mobilised right away. Dad & I thankfully found her and @WMPolice officers Jordan & Tom handled her so gently & helped get her home 👏👏
@Karolina_Kalisz It was rough for a little while! Thankfully Edinburgh have been really supportive throughout and I'm just about getting back to being able to function again.
In the space of the last two months I have experienced: a nasty back injury that causes me pain every single day, a family member's dementia worsening rapidly, my placement supervisor upping and leaving overnight in the middle of my placement, and this morning my dog died.
Today I managed to work on my thesis for the first time since February! 🎉
With burnout and competing academic demands, I just couldn't face it without breaking/shutting down.
Hopefully going to get myself back on track. Onwards and upwards!

Definitely proud of this last placement. I've developed a lot as a Psychologist despite having some stupidly big curveballs thrown at me towards the end there.
Now officially halfway done with training 🎉
