Jet2 just announced new Gatwick-Chambéry winter flights. Scenic approach, quick transfers...but diversions are common. Weather can be bad and cause knock-on delays. Our rule: Never book flights where the plane was inbound from CMF earlier!

@SimonCalder Unconvinced Brexit is an issue here Simon. Not for 50 seconds. The EU system was half a decade late and cost over 4 times the estimate at £1.6bn. We’re well out of that sort of nonsense.

Airlines are illogical: They charge £50 for a 1kg overweight suitcase (fuel cost).
Yet they allow a body to consume paid space by spilling rolls of fat over the armrest (comfort). If you exceed the average passenger weight and seat dimensions, you should pay for the extra space and fuel cost. Just like with legroom. Why do tall people pay more but not fatties? #FairFlying #AviationDebate #SizeMatters

🚨 Update:

Heathrow Terminal 4 Checkin has been assessed by Police and has been cleared for reopen.

As of now, only airport staff are permitted to enter the terminal to support an operational recovery.

Passengers should be allowed into the terminal shortly.
