Blue Peter presenters: Valerie Singleton, John Noakes and Peter Purves reunited in 2000 to open the Blue Peter Millennium Time Capsule they had buried on 7 June 1971.
Conventional wisdom says that leaving the European Union has harmed the British economy.
Listen to almost any Brexit debate – over the airwaves or on the professional conference circuit – and it’s invariably taken for granted being outside the EU has done serious economic damage.
Now we're in June, and as the 23rd approaches – the ten-year anniversary of that hotly-contested, era-defining referendum – this message will be rammed home again and again.
But it simply isn’t true.

I sat next to you in Parliament when you promised your own independent rape gang inquiry. You did the media rounds and took the credit. Boasted about the headlines. Accepted the political gain.
What did you do?
Nothing. You delivered nothing. You never mentioned it again. I pushed you to act, you weren’t interested.
You broke that promise.
You even insulted our own independent inquiry as a ‘waste of space’.
It is filthy politics, and you should apologise for it.
The media are now attacking me because I voted Labour in the past.
So did thousands of us in Makerfield until you let us all down.
Reform is now the party giving real people a voice.
Sod it. For the purposes of full transparency, here are our canvassing returns from Makerfield that we’ve had back so far from the door knocking today.
1,010 sample size.
24.6% for Restore Britain.
31.2% definitely against.
24.2% undecided.
20% considering.
Excluding won’t votes.
More teams coming back, so the sample size will grow a lot in the next few hours.
Largely agrees with what we’ve found over the last week - astounding response with the working class, more difficult with wealthier areas. To be honest.
Labour are the opponent in the fancier places, Reform with the working class.
Our campaign has just taken off. Great name recognition already, but clearly room to grow.
Let’s see what happens.
But we’re very happy with progress.
