The next pub club will be on Saturday the 28th of June!
The pub club is a social group that meets in the pub. All are welcome, it’s a chance to meet some new people over a few pints in the most sociable place of all 🍻
This meet-up starts in Sally Gardens
“It’s sad to see what’s happening with the pubs throughout rural Ireland. It’s the way of life gone, you know?”
The closure of the Ramble Inn in Halfway, Ballinhassig (a pub with over 300 years of history) is a reminder of just how valuable local pubs are in our local communities, and the support needed to keep going.

So effective that banning happy hours, making off licences close at 10pm, banning multibuy discounts, segregating alcohol from other groceries, banning loyalty points on alcohol and introducing minimum unit pricing hasn't made problem drinking go away. Better do some more, so.
@DrinksInd_ie Binge drinking is 3 or more standard strength pints in one sitting. I could casually have 3 pints this evening, walk home, no trouble to anybody & go to work tomorrow. Setting the level at what’s considered binge drinking that low is only there to allow for dramatic headlines
"But to have a beer that is available in a pub, in an on-licence, is a new idea here in Ireland…"
This fella’s had one too many Changing Times: beer has been available on premise in Irish pubs since the beginning of pubs…

Started going the Pub alone as an excuse to get out the house and its honestly better than being in the pub with freinds I could sit there for hours with my earphones in scrolling down my phone.
The long walk to Scotland’s remotest pub is worth the effort!

@beerfoodtravel I do think though (possibly controversially) that off the shelf is too warm and from the fridge is too cold. Cellar temperature would be ideal.
