Pretty good patent news! It shouldn't take this much work to cut a flawed patent down to harmless size, but @mccoysm and @tobbelobb are heroes for doing it.
Big congrats and big thanks. 👏🏆🦸
Posting below by a client who hired me to challenge a patent on a community's open source (GPL) 3D printing device.
Shows how often the most expensive alternative is suggested, or people are told not to even try.

Many aspects of patent law are unclear and confusing. But patent eligibility isn't one of them.
One sign eligibility law crystal clear?
The fact that big pharma keeps asking Congress to re-write it in their favor instead of asking courts.

@USPTO wants to restrict our ability to challenge invalid patents that drive up drug prices. Together, we can prevent that from happening.
To do that, we need to tell Patent Office to protect the public instead of big pharma.

At a recent House oversight hearing, USPTO Director Kathi Vidal said proposals restricting the public's ability to challenge invalid patents came from unnamed "stakeholders."
So we filed a FOIA request to find out who's telling the USPTO what to do.

We're calling on Congress to protect our ability to challenge invalid patents that thwart competition, spike prices, and spur litigation -- with @uspirg , @Public_Citizen, @RSI@t1international, @MichiganUnited, & Public Innovation Project.

Given the one-sided hearing that happened this week, PIRG's report on patent abuse and drug pricing is more important than ever: https://t.co/ePhlMCAMPD
Good news doesn't come all that often, but the European Commission's leaked regulations for licensing standard-essential patents suggests good news is combing for licensors, licensees, and consumers (but maybe not for lawyers).
