@japan_nobunaga As a Pittsburgher, I'd say don't mistake Chicago tradition for American tradition. Chicago hot dogs don't get ketchup. Here in Pittsburgh, where Heinz was born, we put ketchup on just about everything. That's the beauty of America. Every region has its own traditions.

@japan_nobunaga House size- Older home sizes in many regions are modest and in my area, very affordable, with large yards. but they are dwarfed by new construction homes with small yards
@japan_nobunaga State College Pennsylvania increases from 40k to 250k people during a Saturday Penn State game. Even more when playing Ohio State. Classic rivalry. My college PSU vs. my daughters OSU
@tanpukunokami Yes, in Pennsylvania it was the Monday after Thanksgiving for the start of rifle season, but it changed to Saturday in 2019. Kids still get the Monday off
@japan_nobunaga Aside from the original reason, my nearest neighbor is 3km away, and my town has no police force. Crime is incredibly low, but personal protection is still necessary.
@japan_nobunaga In the 3 big cities, it is, but still limited. Rural Pennsylvania is too sparse to develop an effective network. Schools have busses for kids, and elderly have an "as needed" van service. And some veterans groups have vans for trips to the hospital
@japan_nobunaga City rivalries, and college rivalries are more deeply entrenched than state. Locally, Pittsburgh "hates" Cleveland, Pittsburgh "hates" Philadelphia, Pitt "hates" Penn State
