@mnwild@NHL Right around the aav we had him at for a short term deal, but he takes a 1 year deal rather than 2-3 as he bets on himself in a likely increased role in MIN

@BR_OpenIce@DarrenDreger Classic offensive defenseman for defensive defenseman. Both with decently high RAPM showing they are the ones driving it (primarily would be a concern of Korczak benefiting from the vgk structure)

@TheFourthPeriod Great deal for the devs, Gritsyuk does a lot of things well and still has room for development signed below his projected aav. Very close to becoming a complete two way forward.

New Jersey moves Jacob Markstrom's $6M off the books, and they got a genuinely useful player back. The headline going to Florida is the goalie: Markstrom grades 41.7, Below average and slightly declining. We've all seen what Marky can do at his best, the question is if he can return to form with an extremely solid defensive system playing in front of him. Evan Rodrigues is heading the other way. He grades 53.9 and his two-way impact lands near the top of NHL centers, the game tilts in his team's favor when he's out there, and he's signed well below fair value. Jesper Boqvist rounds it out as a cheap depth center returning to NJ. #NHL #NHLAnalytics #NJDevils #TimeToHunt

New Jersey moves Jacob Markstrom's $6M off the books, and the numbers say they didn't just dump salary, they got a genuinely useful player back. The headline going to Florida is the goalie: Markstrom grades 41.7, Below average and slightly declining, a starter whose core job, stopping pucks, now grades below the league middle, though his rebound control still holds up. We've all seen what Marky can do at his best, the question is if he can return to form with an extremely solid defensive system playing in front of him. Evan Rodrigues is heading the other way. He grades 53.9, Average on the label, but his two-way impact lands near the top of NHL centers, the game tilts in his team's favor when he's out there, and he's signed well below fair value. Jesper Boqvist rounds it out as a cheap depth center returning to NJ. So the split is clear: New Jersey clears a fading goalie's money and acquires some solid pieces that wouldn't have seen much ice time in FLA. Did the Panthers solve their goaltending, or did the Devils just win this twice? Where do you have it?
