@intheballparks@PortlandSeaDogs Well look at that! I've been to Hadlock dozens of times & never noticed it. I've even sat in those seats next to the hill. But then again, sometimes I'm not so observant. Just this year my granddaughter pointed out the stripes in the crosswalk on Park Ave. are baseball bats.
At LeLacheur Park for the return of the @LowellSpinners! This incarnation of the Spinners are a summer wood bat team playing in the Futures League. Nice to see lots of work has been done on the park since my last visit. Tonight the Westfield Starfires provide the opposition.
Pregaming at the Worthen House Piub in Lowell. This is the oldest bar in Lowell, having been founded in 1889. Among its former patrons are Edgar Allen Poe and Jack Kerouac. Today, we had some of the most amazing burgers I’ve had in a long time! I’ll definitely be back.
Tough to say. Let me break it down by sport.
Football-Tom Brady
Basketball-Larry Bird
Hockey-Bobby Orr
Baseball-Bob Feller
Rock and Roll-Aerosmith (yes, the whole band)
This list is very Boston-centric. Maybe I should go with Roger Clemens for baseball?
The puck wall lost another member Friday with the passing of Dennis Hull at the age of 81. Hull played 13 seasons for the Chicago Blackhawks and one for the Detroit Red Wings. He scored 303 goals and 351 assists over 959 games.
Found out today that the puck wall lost another member this week. Forbes Kennedy, who played for the #nhlbruins for four seasons from 1962-66, passed away on May 25 at the age of 90. Overall, Kennedy played for 5 teams in a career that spanned 12 seasons.
Hearing that the Hurricanes got rid of anthem singer Mason Greer because he performed a bilingual version of Oh Canada before Game one of the ECF series against Montreal. Another garbage move by a garbage franchise.
I really hate that Monday has become an automatic travel day across minor league baseball. There's not a ballgame to be found anywhere within driving distance of me on Memorial Day.
