🔎 UPDATE #3 - MISSING CHILD - PARKER🔍

We continue to ask for the public's help in locating Parker, 11, and are providing an update on the extensive search and investigative efforts underway to find him.

⭐ Today, we are releasing a new image of Parker captured on CCTV footage on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 12:52 p.m., taken at the 5000-6000 block of Travis Crescent N.E. We are hopeful this image will assist the public in recognizing him and provide new information about his whereabouts.

Since he was reported missing, the CPS has dedicated significant resources to locating Parker. Investigators, patrol officers and specialized units continue to work around the clock to examine every possible lead and search areas where Parker may have travelled.

Since Parker was reported missing:
➡️ Approx. 30 tips have been received and assessed by investigators.
➡️ Officers have reviewed, or are currently reviewing, approx. 50 hours of CCTV, residential security camera and dashcam footage.
➡️ More than 200 CPS members have assisted in the search effort.
➡️ Officers have conducted door-to-door inquiries in all the surrounding communities and continue to canvass the area.

Investigators continue to identify, collect and review additional video footage and other evidence related to Parker's movements.

Search efforts continue in the communities of Cambrian Heights, Thorncliffe, North Haven, North Haven Upper, Highwood, Highland Park, Greenview, Greenview Industrial Park, Nose Hill Park and surrounding areas. Today, approx. 100 to 120 trained search volunteers coordinated through Search and Rescue Alberta are assisting with search operations in northwest Calgary.

Members of the public may continue to see a significant police and search presence in these communities, including our Air Support Unit, Mounted Patrol Team, Mountain Bike Unit, Canine Unit, patrol officers, investigators and trained search volunteers.

We remain grateful for the tremendous community support we have received and encourage residents to continue assisting in safe and meaningful ways.

ℹ️ There is nothing to indicate foul play is involved. Although this case does not meet the Government of Alberta’s legislated threshold for an AMBER Alert, we are working with our partners at the Missing Children's Society of Canada to issue an alert in hopes of locating Parker.

The US will receive money collected from the Gordie Howe Bridge, prior to Canada recouping the full $6.4 billion it paid to build it, two senior government sources have told Global News.

This is despite Mark Carney saying the US would get what was "left over" after Canada serviced debt on the bridge, which the Americans contributed $0 to.

The two sources told Global News, the new 15 year agreement stipulates Canada will get 100% of the revenue from the bridge, cash that will be used to pay for things like snow removal and other maintenance costs but not for debt servicing. The money left over, will be split 50/50 with the Americans, who have agreed to put their cut, into an American controlled regional economic development fund.

The original deal signed in 2012, said that Canada was to receive 100% of the money from the bridge, until they were made whole for fronting the entire cost of the crossing, a timeline that was estimated to stretch over 50+ years.

Once the 15 year side deal is completed the Liberals say the original financial terms come back into force but they have not released the text of what they say is an "agreement in principle" to back up any claims up.

On Thursday, Carney said that Canada is "not splitting the tolls of the bridge. It is an agreement for 15 years to split net revenues. Splitting of tolls, any sharing of the toll, won’t happen until all of the debt is repaid."

While Carney is correct in saying Canada is not splitting tolls, the overwhelming major of the revenue from the Gordie Howe Bridge, comes from the tolls it collects, revenue Canada is set to share with the US.

Both sources indicated it's expected bridge expenses will exceed revenue for at least the first six years, meaning neither side would get money during that period, but that timeline could fluctuate based on the amount of traffic on the bridge #cdnpoli

“Veto power” for Indigenous groups is real, and it is being increasingly formalized by BC’s radical NDP government.

When I originally said that DRIPA’s consent provisions would amount to veto power for Indigenous groups over resource development, my warning was brushed off as fear-mongering by the NDP and many others

Now the NDP has announced a *third* “Consent Decision-Making Agreement” under s7 of DRIPA, this time with the Simpcw First Nation. Under this agreement, the consent of Simpcw is explicitly required for a mine project to proceed within a specified area.

In other words, even if a project is good for British Columbians, a small governing body representing a few hundred people can simply say “No.”

If that isn’t a veto, I don’t know what is.

What does this mean? Put simply, decision-making power over provincially and even nationally important projects is being handed to small Indigenous governments that have no democratic relationship with, and no mandate to serve the interests of, the other 5+ million British Columbians.

(Not to mention impacts on BC’s already-precarious investment climate…)

Keep in mind, this is just one of BC’s 200+ Indigenous groups whose overlapping claims cover the whole province. This isn’t the first such agreement and it’s not even close to the last.
