Puentes ended yesterday. It’s the fourth time we’ve done it, and I’m so happy with how it turned out.
One thing I admire about early YC stories is how batchmates would become lifelong friends. Everyone I’ve talked to about those days remembers them fondly as getting to be a part of something special only they knew about; the world hadn’t yet caught up to it.
To me, that’s a fundamental milestone for any institution that wants to be really successful long term. I like to joke about this, but an unexpected outcome of building Puentes is that I’ve grown my group of friends in SF by a lot. The fellows now living here are dear friends.
On the last night of Puentes IV, we did a barbecue at @engelberger_n and @tomasward__ place just with fellows, and there were 35 of us on their rooftop, from previous cohorts and this last one.
I’m proud to say we’re starting to become a real community. Every fellow is someone I’ll help and support for life. They’re high-quality humans I’d like to call friends, and extremely competitive people I’m sure will slowly but surely build enormous companies.
To Puentes IV fellows, thank you for your trust, and see you in SF very soon :)

Tive um 1:1 com o Pedro hoje
> No e-mail, dizia que iam me receber e me levar até a sala dele
> Cheguei ao escritório uns 20 minutos mais cedo
> Deu a hora e a pessoa foi me buscar
> Fui acompanhando ela, esperando chegar à sala
> Chegando lá, a “sala” dele era só uma mesa no meio das outras, onde o pessoal trabalha
> Ele me recebeu super bem, fomos para uma sala de reunião e batemos um papo
Bizarro como um cara que já alcançou tanta coisa continua apaixonado pelo que faz e extremamente hands-on em todos os problemas
