In honor of StFUF:
Hey students! If you happen to get arrested at a protest, do yourself a favor. Don't talk to the police and don't talk to reporters who stick cameras in your faces.
"I'm invoking my right to remain silent and the right to speak with an attorney."
BREAKING: Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, becomes the first university in the U.S. to fully divest from Israel.
This was Rachel Corrie’s school.
Downtown accounts for about 10% of Seattle’s population and 90% of the focus of elected officials.
Probably has nothing to do with the massive amount of money commercial real estate pumps into their campaigns
The Boy Scouts-affiliated Explorer Program has seen more than 200 documented cases of sexual abuse, primarily against teen girls.
A famous case in the 2000s involved an SPD officer grooming an intern and attempting to force a kiss. He was never fired.
Just as a reminder to students. This is how your institutions will respond to you when you question their authority and threaten their existing power structures.
You asked for your academic institutions to divest from warfare and they sent their boots after you.
Congratulations to student organizers at the Evergreen State College’s Gaza Solidarity Encampment who were able to secure a definite timeline for divestment at the institution! Now let’s hold the administration to its word, and let’s expand this win nationwide! ✊ 🇵🇸
It is actually not inconsistent with being a police abolitionist to point out that police show deference to fascist actors and do nothing when they commit assaults.
As student protestors are violently attacked, we're wondering how brave those men attacking would be if the minorities there were prepared to defend themselves.
It's not a meme folks...arm minorities everywhere!
I AM NOT A LAWYER, AND THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE
if you're going to a protest where you expect to get arrested it's extremely important to have arrest training. this thread will not be as useful as a proper training, but i can offer a few tips:
Is the person breathing? Is the person responding to their environment? If yes to these questions, don't go slapping them with Narcan.
Being high, even high af ≠ an overdose
An overdose means the person is:
* Unresponsive
* Not adequately breathing
Those who mock student protestors saying "they couldn't find Gaza on a map" should do a reality check on why they care so much about the geography and not the people being eliminated in a GENOCIDE.
There’s a role for everyone in the movement. Not everyone is a front liner and that’s okay. The more shared risk tolerance there is among those at the front lines the safer everyone is.
