The Real Subplot- Hormuz
Both sides agreed the Strait of Hormuz must remain open. Xi opposed its “militarization” and any effort to charge a toll for its use.  Rubio told NBC the US raised the issue to make their position clear, saying “we don’t need their help” with Iran.
