Nanay has been selling vegetables at her shop for the past three years. When Typhoon Uwan struck earlier this month, her business was suddenly disrupted as families lost their homes, workplaces, and community centers. WCK is now working with Nanay and other local sellers by purchasing their produce—ensuring money stays within the community and families have access to fresh, nourishing meals. #ChefsForPhilippines
🇵🇭 The WCK Field Kitchen in Casiguran, Philippines is open! Our teams have been working hard to equip this space so we can cook even more meals—like pork mechado with baguio pechay, cabbage, and tomatoes—for families impacted by Typhoon Uwan. Now, the kitchen is fully up and running, serving thousands of meals per day alongside our local restaurant partners. #ChefsForPhilippines

Serving with compassion means listening closely to what communities need. When our #ChefsForPhilippines team learned that families in Barangay Dibacong were in need of rice, we responded—distributing bags to people who had lost their homes and livelihoods to Typhoon Uwan. With this rice, families can prepare their own meals, taking an important first step on the long road to rebuilding.
After a heavy drone attack damaged energy and port infrastructure in Odesa, firefighters worked through repeated air raid alerts to extinguish multiple fires. WCK’s #ChefsForUkraine team was on site at the port to support responders with hot meals, sandwiches, drinks, and snacks as they continued their work. Many of the firefighters were familiar faces, and after such a difficult night, seeing the WCK team brought immediate smiles. We’re grateful to stand with the people who keep their communities safe.
WCK teams in Gaza have now provided more than 18.5 million liters (4.9 million gallons) of lifesaving potable water to families in need. The desalination units at two of our facilities are running around the clock, converting seawater into clean, safe water for drinking and cooking. Working alongside our partners at Al Musadder Sports Club and Kutuf Al Khair, we distributed 425,000 liters of water last week alone. #ChefsForGaza
This morning in Ukraine, a combined missile and drone attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region killed seven people, injured many more, and disrupted electricity and heating systems. Our #ChefsForUkraine team was on site in the Dniprovskyi district, where a drone struck a nine-story residential building. We arrived at 5 a.m. with meals for first responders and residents impacted by the attack.
Before the war, Reem ran the Nidaa Al-Hayat Association in Gaza, which provided psychological and health support to women with cancer. Now, she helps people in a different way—she runs a WCK-supported community kitchen in Khan Younis and cooks meals for displaced Palestinians. Her kitchen is one of more than 60 that our teams support across Gaza, providing vital meals to families in need. #ChefsForGaza
Our partners at Garces Royal Garden Catering Services are working nonstop to ensure their community has fresh, comforting meals in the wake of Typhoon Kalmaegi. Each day, their team is cooking more than 5,500 meals for families who have lost their homes, workplaces, and so much more. With partners like Garces Royal Garden, families going through difficult times can count on familiar dishes made by local cooks—meals that provide the fuel to recover and rebuild. #ChefsForPhilippines
“I know what it’s like during a shutdown and not getting paid. I know that it’s extremely stressful." — Simone, WCK Volunteer
During our #ChefsForFeds response, Simone, a WCK volunteer and federal worker herself, was moved by her empathy for federal employees working without pay. She began delivering meals with WCK, serving thousands of employees who were still on the job during the shutdown. Bohdan is a young boy who lives in the apartment building across from where a drone struck in Kyiv last week. As WCK #ChefsForUkraine teams served him, his neighbors, and first responders on the scene, he and the other neighborhood kids started a soccer game in the street beside the impact site—a small moment of childhood and community amid the chaos.
Meet Lucas, who helps manage WCK’s #ChefsForBrazil restaurant partnerships. He works closely with local restaurants to ensure their teams prepare enough hot meals for communities recovering from the rare and devastating tornado. As a chef himself, he also helps make sure the meals are comforting and full of local flavors.
“We’re starting from zero, but this right here, this is everything.” - Dave, WCK Volunteer in Jamaica
In Westmoreland, Jamaica, Dave and his son Dwayne lost the home they built by hand to Hurricane Melissa. Yet every day, they walk door to door delivering hot meals and water to families who are even more isolated than they are. With five daily meal distribution stops, Dave and Dwayne bring comfort, connection, and care to neighbors rebuilding from nothing. #ChefsForJamaica
In southern Brazil, WCK’s team stopped at Fornella, one of our amazing local restaurant partners. Viridiana and Patrícia prepared sandwiches and bananas for families impacted by the tornado. With the car packed full of meals, we headed to Rio Bonito do Iguaçu to distribute lunch in the hard-hit Vista Alegre neighborhood. #ChefsForBrazil
