At the start of the season, a major talking point around Chelsea under Xabi Alonso was:
How do you best utilise Levi Colwill’s greatest weapon, which is his laser-guided, line-breaking vertical ground passes into midfield?
The second goal was rather absurd because there are lots of questions to be asked
Because there were so many movements from Roma players besides the Madrid defenders, yet none of them was taking note; they were all focused on Rodrigo Mora.
There's no goddamn way Valverde didn't notice the movement of Donny Malen because he started moving right in front of Valverde before he moved to exploit the space between Valverde and Tchouameni
Roma's second and third goals against Madrid happened in the same way, with attackers running behind Madrid's defensive line, though we'll tag the second goal as an obvious error from Vinícius Júnior for attempting a silly backheel after receiving directly from the goalkeeper.

Cole Palmer's ability to have four players concentrating on him moments before Henderson's power shot is not talked about much.
The fact that he even drove the ball from the middle of the pitch to the box.
What a player.
Palmer really drove the ball from the middle of the pitch to the box, got blocked by three Bournemouth players
He turned right inside the box and had four Bournemouth players just watching him before he passed to Henderson, and Henderson finished.

Football IQ at its best
Vinícius Júnior has been suspended for four games, including the first ElClásico of the season, after being red-carded for pulling an opponent's hair during his team's win over Villarreal on Saturday.

The thought of replacing Cucurela with Hato really scared the shit out of me
Thank goodness for chavaria; it's really looking good.
And guys, what's up with the Premier League official page? They've been on Chelsea all through

I actually thought that a post couldn't go past a thousand views without having a large following
Maybe this post will make me believe in X again and start sharing football content

@XabiChels Playing LCB doesn't mean he would be close to the touchline like an LWB
His heat map shows his still playing as a LCB, but the switch mostly happens during build-up up
This clip made me realise that, just as Chelsea's front line actively swaps spaces, Alonso applies the same principle to his defensive structure, making it fluid.
In this clip, you can clearly see a backline of Henderson, Colwill, and LaCroix.
