More graphic evidence that President Trump is the Great American Divider, Deceiver, and if we’re not vigilant, Destroyer.
He is intentionally and willfully mischaracterizing his Democratic political opposition into something he knows it isn’t - a communist party - bc he knows especially among the Boomer generation (the bloc that votes in high percentages) still has lingering fears of the word “communism” from the USSR days of the Cold War.
By deceiving the susceptible, President Trump seeks to demonize whole portions of our citizenry, turning his side against their fellow citizens. It is crass and beneath the dignity of his office, and it is harmful to the stability of our country.
Political differences bt red and blue are real and totally fair game to challenge. But we must challenge the *policies* and not the people who belong to one group or the other.
Remember how the right howled w indignation when Hillary Clinton called Trump supporters “deploreables” or Biden warned all Americans who self identified as MAGA were a “danger to the nation”? They were dead wrong to demonize those Americans who supported Trump just like President Trump is wrong today for demonizing every American who belongs to the Social Democrats by mere virtue of their existence.
You want to argue *policies* of Social Democrats are wrong or that u have a better vision? Cool. Totally fair. Argue that to ur heart’s content. That is the definition of healthy political discourse.
But all of you, red AND blue leaders, stop making one half of our United States out to b the enemy of the other.
It will eventually destroy us all.
I've just visited the largest funeral in history, where millions mourned Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian leader who was assassinated by the US-Israeli coalition along with members of his family
It is practically impossible to understand what this scene is like, or what it means, unless you're here. I've met people from around the world who've come to pay respects, including many from across the West. The crowds pouring in are endless, and grow larger and more intense into the night.
From Tehran's Mosala, there are indignant calls for vengeance, displays of sorrow and defiance, protest, songs and marathons of poetry. These days of mourning will amount to one of the most resonant moments in the history of anti-imperialist movements.
Everyone I've spoken to believes war will return to Iran before long, and none trust the MOU with the US. But they are confident their country can deter another assault. They see their own citizens' mobilization as an integral component of Iran's survival.
If the assassination of Khamenei was designed to spur regime change, his funeral demonstrates how badly it has backfired. And the crime may blow back in ways its historically illiterate authors could have never imagined.
What we're witnessing in the Mosala consolidates the Islamic Republic and its revolutionary society as a political reality that can not be erased through regime change war or sanctions. This is a turning point in the region that will echo for a generation.
This is the most obscene lie ever sold as history.
America didn’t promote freedom.
It monopolized the right to define it and then systematically destroyed every attempt at real freedom that didn’t serve American interests.
Whenever a nation tried to use its own resources for its own people, it was called a threat to “freedom.”
Iran nationalized its oil to keep the wealth at home … destroyed.
Guatemala passed land reform so peasants could eat instead of starving for United Fruit … coup.
Chile voted for democratic socialism to reduce crushing inequality …overthrown and replaced with a regime that tortured equality out of existence.
The pattern was never accidental.
It was the operating system …
Crush any model of sovereignty or economic justice that might succeed without American permission.
Post-colonial countries dreaming of genuine independence were met with sabotage, rigged “aid,” and structural adjustment programs that forced them to sell everything cheap while inequality exploded.
The equality abroad?
The same empire that preached it built a global hierarchy where the only equality was the equal right of every other nation to be poor, indebted, and dependent.
It was never liberation.
It was the violent enforcement of a single acceptable version of “freedom” the freedom of capital to flow one way while sovereignty flowed the other.
250 years of this hypocrisy created the exact world of resentment, instability, and broken societies it now pretends to fix.
And from what I see the world is done pretending the preacher was ever anything but the biggest hypocrite in the room.
Happy 4th of July?
Millions of Americans think they’re celebrating 250 years of “freedom” today, but what they’re really celebrating is 250 years of corruption, endless war, and a capitalist system that exploits the many to enrich the few.
The uncomfortable truth is none of us in the U.S. are free. We are owned by banks, exploited by billionaires, and controlled by two parties that sell us out at every turn.
Freedom is just the illusion they sell to hide the cage and prevent people from ever questioning the dictatorship of capital that controls, exploits, and monetizes every aspect of our lives from birth to death.
Where is the freedom when a handful of billionaires [and a trillionaire] hoard ungodly fortunes through the mass exploitation of our labor and the mass extraction of resources that belong to our communities?
Where is the freedom when our tax dollars fund endless wars, genocide, and the mass murder of children abroad all to further enrich the billionaire class?
Where is the freedom when 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and struggle to afford basic needs like housing, healthcare, and groceries?
Where is the freedom when 75% of Americans can’t afford a median-priced home, 100 million Americans live with medical debt, and 140 million Americans are poor or low-income?
There is no freedom here. We are all prisoners of a decrepit capitalist system that keeps us trapped in the rat race by demonizing the one economic system, socialism, that would put the economy in the hands of the people.
Imagine a world where workers own the means of production, resources are used for the benefit of all, and decisions are made to meet the basic needs of the people rather than the endless greed of billionaires. That is socialism, and there is nothing scary about it.
What is scary is continuing to allow a handful of billionaires and two capitalist parties to control our entire economy and make life-or-death decisions for all of humanity.
Now is not the time to celebrate a “freedom” that we never had. Now is the time to fight for our freedom from the dictatorship of capital.
"Trump gets blamed, but he's an inflatable tube dude at a mafia chop shop. His apathy to governance is mistaken for sway. Governing was never the point. Trump’s casual treason has always made him an ideal vessel for America's going-out-of-business sale."

An Israeli soldier in Gaza holds up the sock of a Palestinian girl after killing her, filming himself smiling, after writing in his post (in Hebrew): "My new hobby: smelling the sock of a 5-year-old girl twice a day for 4 months."
This is neither a narrative nor an analysis. These are the soldier's own words, with his picture and from his own account.

This is properly insane: quite literally the worst example of censorship I've ever heard of anywhere.
I checked the actual ruling (which you can see here: https://t.co/dBKFWZ2ZWm) and, to be clear, it isn't just censorship in the conventional sense - blocking access to a website or removing content from platforms - this is the criminalization of information relayed by private citizens, with prison sentences attached.
And the most insane aspect if that it does NOT matter if the information relayed is accurate or not. It just matters that it originates from RT or other media outlets banned in the EU.
In other words, truth isn't a defense anymore in the EU, it literally doesn't matter. It's purely based on the identity of the speaker.
The ruling is actually explicit about this: the regulation, quoted by the Court says that the prohibition applies to "any content," and they draw no distinction based on what the content actually says. If it originates from banned outlets, it's banned.
It is, quite simply, a complete unraveling of the entire post-Enlightenment legal and philosophical project where entire generations of Europeans fought to move from "who says it" to "is it true" as the operative question.
Think about the absurdity of it: if RT publishes a video saying the sky is blue and you share it on a publicly accessible website in the EU, you'd fall within the scope of this ruling, making you liable to criminal prosecution.
Completely and utterly absurd. But that's the EU today for you 🤷
