My city has received 600 mm of rainfall this week, with another 400 mm likely over the next 48 hours.

That’s about 40% of its average seasonal rainfall in just one week. Most cities would come to a standstill under these conditions.

Was trying to book a train ticket through IRCTC when the Advance reservation period opens at 8am. App and systems worked well till 7:59am. Entire IRCTC servers seems to be down or at the mercy of the Agents.

- The website did not open
- If it opens, it is stuck on login page
- third party apps show irctc technical error
- the irctc app too is stuck on the login page
- the irctc page on mobile browser is stuck on 'Captcha' page and then keeps crashing.

If anything, the Babus at IRCTC and Indian Railways have made it impossible for a common man to get tickets without being at the mercy of the AGENTS who operate on ticket windows or otherwise.

This was never the case when Suresh Prabhu was the railway minister.

@IRCTCofficial has failed big time.

The intense spell of rainfall in #Mumbai has now concluded, leaving a notable impact on the city's meteorological records.

​The IMD #Santacruz observatory registered a substantial 875 mm of rainfall over a five-day period from 16th August to 20th August, 2025.

The daily breakdown is as follows:

​16 Aug: 244.7 mm
​17 Aug: 83.8
18 ​Aug: 99.4
19 Aug: 238.2
​20 Aug: 209.0

​This significant accumulation has propelled #Mumbai's total rainfall for August past the 1,000 mm mark, making it the wettest August in the last five years. The previous wettest August was in 2020, which saw 1240 mm. The all-time record for August monthly rainfall, set in 1958, stands at 1254 mm.

​The cumulative seasonal #Rainfall for Mumbai now stands at 2311 mm.

Meanwhile #IMD's AWS in #Vikhroli, located in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai, recorded a massive total of 1008 mm of rainfall over a five-day period!
