For the end of my day there is an industry session with H3D Gamma hosted with our ANS chapter this evening by the H3D Gamma President and COO Dr. Streicher.
Every Wednesday the School of Nuclear Engineering hosts a seminar speaker. Today’s is Dr. David DiPrete from Savannah River National Lab. The students get to have an informal conversation pit with him for the hour leading up to the seminar!
The next class for today is NUCL 410 which is the second neutronics course we take. The past couple weeks we have been focusing on deriving the neutron transport equation and learning approximations.
My first class of the day is Radiation Interaction with Materials and Applications! Today we’re going over computer simulations with LAMMPS and KALYPSO.
To start off my day, we’re setting up tabling for Nuclear Science Week! We offer tours of our reactor, PUR-1, advertise for our nuclear carnival this Friday, and our Atoms for Humanity symposium next week. We also set up interactive materials for people to use a GM counter.
Good morning! My name is Jennah Bari, and I’m the president of the Purdue WIN chapter. This is my #dayinthelife takeover as a senior in the School of Nuclear Engineering!
Join us on Oct 25-26 as Atoms for Humanity unites experts and leaders advancing sustainable energy. Meet thought leaders and students driving renewable energy with science, tech, and policy. More info at https://t.co/eFe3Fpb1mQ
Happy #NuclearSciWeek 2023! 💙💚🧡 Nuclear plants operate 24/7 to provide CLEAN carbon-free energy! ☀️⚛️ In fact, more than 50% of the USA’s #carbonfree power comes from #nuclearenergy.
Our members had a wonderful time representing our chapter at the 2023 USWIN conference this past summer! We are so grateful to be able to win the Student Chapter Excellence Award for the second time.
Nothing's better than seeing our WIN members being busy finishing the semester strong!! The main events that were held were the nuclear recognition seminar, senior design presentation, and Alpha Nu Sigma induction.

Finishing off the semester with one final WESO meeting where are new officers attended!! Already so excited to work together as a team and with our fellow women in engineering organizations 😁
Also big shout-out to SWE for the awesome bucket hats #purduenuclear#womeninnuclear
“Wheels down in Indianapolis 🛬. On my way to West Lafayette to speak with students at @LifeAtPurdue about our vision for nuclear power and the role it plays in creating jobs and combatting climate change. Tune in at 3:30 p.m. today." – Katy Huff https://t.co/DNmDqypzfx
We had an excellent time tonight hearing from @NEI ‘s Emma Derr about her role as Digital Communications Manager and chatting about NEI initiatives! Can’t wait to use her tips to outreach to our community about SMRs!
