I have been thinking deeply about one question:
What kind of AI should India build?
Not just AI that looks impressive in demos.
Not just AI that answers generic questions.
But AI that understands Indian problems, Indian users, Indian languages, Indian businesses, Indian workflows, and Indian constraints.
Over the last few years, while working across Generative AI, RAG, LLMs, Agentic AI, cloud-native architectures, enterprise use cases, and real-world AI solution design, I have seen a clear gap.
There is a lot of AI research happening globally.
There are a lot of AI tools being launched every week.
But very few are being translated into practical, affordable, reliable, India-focused solutions.
That is the gap I want to work on.
Within the PureCognition AI Labs which will be an Applied AI Research Lab focused on turning AI research into practical solutions for real Indian problems.
The focus will be on areas like:
- AI agents for Indian businesses and MSMEs
- RAG and knowledge systems for enterprises
- Vernacular and multilingual AI experiences
- AI for education, healthcare, BFSI, logistics, governance, and productivity
- Evaluation frameworks to make AI systems more reliable
- Research-to-product experiments that can become tools, accelerators, and products
The idea is simple:
- We will study what is happening at the edge of AI research.
- We will implement it.
- We will test it.
- We will adapt it for Indian use cases.
- And we will try to convert it into something useful for people, businesses, and society.
This is still in the initiation phase.
So anyone who joins now will not just be joining a team.
You will be part of the founding journey.
If you are an engineer, researcher, designer, product thinker, student, cloud expert, AI enthusiast, or someone who genuinely wants to build meaningful AI for India - I would love to connect.
