Regina Belle drove to the hospital to see Peabo Bryson days before he passed.
She sat beside him, held his hand and whispered A Whole New World, the same song they recorded together for Aladdin in 1992. The song that won them both a Grammy. The song that made millions fall in love.
🚨 DAMN.
Ruby Bridges said the moment she finally understood what was happening during school integration was when a little white boy told her:
“My mom said I can’t play with you because you’re a nigger.”
She was SIX.
And she said hearing that felt like “a huge weight lifted,” because suddenly everything made sense.
Why the classrooms were empty.
Why adults were screaming.
Why U.S. Marshals had to escort her to school.
Not because of anything she did.
Just because of the color of her skin.
A six-year-old child realizing an entire country was angry at her for existing.
Michael Jackson is NOW OFFICIALLY the most streamed artiste on earth right now
This is someone who died 17 years ago, still competing with those who are alive and winning them. Making more money than artistes who are alive
Truly legends NEVER DIE. They live forever
MAJOR BREAKING: Epstein survivors just announced they will release their own list of names.
“We know who abused us. We saw who came and went. This list will be survivor-led—for survivors.”
The government stalled.
Now the victims are doing it themselves.
DID YOU KNOW??
The line "Annie, are you okay?" from Michael Jackson’s 1987 hit Smooth Criminal isn't just a catchy hook, it is a direct reference to CPR training.
Till today it remains one of the most famous "hidden in plain sight" facts in pop music history. Here is the backstory of how a medical dummy became a global superstar.
1. The Resusci Anne Connection:
In the mid-1980s, Michael Jackson and his brothers took a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification course. During the training, they practiced on the world's most famous medical manikin: Resusci Anne (also known as "CPR Annie").
When you find an unconscious person, the very first step in the first-aid protocol is to check for responsiveness. Trainees are taught to shake the dummy's shoulders and shout: "Annie, are you okay?"
Jackson was so struck by the rhythmic repetition of the phrase during his class that it stayed in his head. When he began writing Smooth Criminal, which tells the story of a woman attacked in her apartment, he used that exact medical check as the core of the chorus.
2. "The Most Kissed Girl in the World":
The dummy herself has a haunting history. The face of the Resusci Anne doll is modeled after a death mask of an unidentified young woman pulled from the River Seine in Paris in the late 1880s (known as L'Inconnue de la Seine).
Because millions of people have practiced mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on her since the 1960s, she is often called "the most kissed girl in the world." A very wierd thing to know, yea? 😅
3. The CPR Tempo:
There is a second, even more practical connection to life-saving.
To perform effective chest compressions, you need a steady rhythm of 100–120 beats per minute.
Smooth Criminal clocks in at roughly 118 BPM. While the Bee Gees' Stayin' Alive is the "official" song used by the British Heart Foundation, Smooth Criminal is technically a perfect tempo for keeping someone alive. Micheal even made sure his song was medically sound 🤣🤣🤣.
In a 2025 interview, MJ’s sound engineer revealed that Michael actually kept a Resusci Anne doll in the recording studio for inspiration while he was laying down the vocals to ensure the "urgency" of the line felt authentic.
Hopefully you've learnt something new today? 🌚 😂
Cheers 🥂 🙂
