Freedom comes when we don't live by those feelings. When instead, we live by faith, which requires submitting to God, submitting how we feel to Him, bringing those things to Him, wrestling through those things with Him, and ultimately letting His truth—His word—lead our life.
Ministry Outreach Director Patrick Hudson finished teaching what it means to live by faith rather than by feelings last week. In the second part of his two-part message, he focused on faith, explaining how victorious faith begins, is cultivated throughout your life, and lived out practically.
🙏 This ended up being a very powerful service, ending with an altar space flooded with men who were taking their first step into victorious faith. Please pray for their depth in God and their protection as the enemy would love nothing more than to steal the seed which God has sown.
If you've also yet to experience victorious faith, we encourage you to watch this message at https://t.co/64GRyoqqJd.

When our feelings like fear, anger, pain, and bitterness, as well as our desires, fuel us, we just live out of what we see and what we sense, and we’re left trapped.
Our events manager, Josh Rowand, continues our "Process of Sin" theme by speaking on our podcast about how today's Christian can not only navigate a sexualized culture, but go deeper with the Lord in the process.
In today's culture, it's nearly impossible to avoid seeing sexualized images and messages. That means we must diligently protect our hearts. Otherwise, we'll be corrupted.
Maybe some of you already sense that your hearts aren't where they should be. If that's the case, then the question becomes, "How can my heart be made clean again?"

We're either going to let our feelings rule us, or we're going to take principles and truth from outside of ourselves and put them as a guardrail around our feelings and around our desires so that our feelings and desires only operate within the parameters of those truths.
Whether someone feels like their homosexual attractions are right, or feels that their wife doesn't meet their needs, or feels like watching p*rn is not cheating—the truth is that those feelings don't line up with the ultimate guardrail of truth: Scripture.
We need Scripture to surround us and guide us and hem in how we think and how we feel. Not just because it’s word of God, but because we can also learn of who God is and what He thinks about our lives.
Last week, Ministry Outreach Director Patrick Hudson preached the first of a two-part message on living by faith and not by feelings. This isn't the first time we've hit this topic in our ministry, but the reason we come back to it again and again is because we're so prone to follow our hearts which desire sin. Even when we think we know what's right, the truth is quickly forgotten or ignored in the face of temptation's open door.
In this first part, Patrick talks about the heart's feelings of fear, anger, and sadness in depth, having been overcome by them before Christ and having overcome them IN Christ. He combats each feeling with the solid word of God to equip the listener with the weapons to overcome their own feelings and follow God and His truth instead.

In our recent chapel services, we've been reminding students about the power of worship in overcoming sexual sin and our flesh nature.
Throughout Scripture, we see examples of how worship preceded victory. It wasn't a matter of singing some nice songs about God to feel better. It was praise to the Almighty God springing from the depths of the distressed, yet believing, heart! This battle strategy still succeeds today.
As the men in our program face their own troubles without and within, we've been recalling and testifying to the role worship played (and continues to play) in our own victory. As a result, students have been singing with conviction and have helped usher in the faith-building presence of God!
If you're in need of victory yourself, we encourage you to consider our Residential Program: https://t.co/W8U3tD364L
We're finishing our mini-series of old interviews going through the book of Revelation. In this last article, we'll see how the last chapters of Revelation give us a glimpse of a new heaven and a new earth.
God will purify this earth to usher in His Kingdom, free from crime, fear, and pain. Soberly, how you live now proves if you belong there. If we love and obey God here, we will in eternity; if we love sin now, we will not magically desire His Kingdom later.

What you see throughout Scripture is that life after death is an extension of life on earth.
"'Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy.'" (Revelation 22:11 NASB1995)
Those are prophetic words from the Lord that say the way you are going to go. How you ended your life is what you're going to be for all eternity.
Last week, Steve Gallagher preached a relevant message for men seeking victory over sexual sin. For those of you who are currently fighting against it, you know how overwhelming the battle can be at times. But, in today's message, Pastor Steve focuses on the great reward which should captivate the struggling believer: namely, heaven.
Now, he isn't speaking conjecture here, rather he's speaking from years of experience setting his mind on heaven as Scripture speaks of it. He explains how it's (1) the perfect city, (2) the place for overcomers, (3) eternal, (4) God's habitation, and (5) the overcomer's reward.

Continuing our theme of "Light & Darkness", Vinny, one of our staff members, shared how the Lord exposed the hypocrisy in his life, and how that was crucial in leading him out of sexual sin.
Unfortunately, there are many hypocrites in the American church—and it's not just evident in sexual sin. Many "deeds of the flesh" are indulged in, like anger, envy, gossip, and greed. But you would never know it because many who sit in churches every Sunday have learned to play the Christian part so well that it's hard to know what's true or what's just an act.

Revelation 18 exposes how mankind is affected by the spirit of this world and how it helps set one's mind and heart in opposition to God's authority. Join us as Steve Gallagher discusses how we can either be filled with the Lord and His Spirit or the enemy and the spirit of this world. Also, Steve breaks down the joy and hope we have in the coming of the Lord's Kingdom and the destruction of the spirit of this world, (the spirit of Babylon) in these last days.
