We’ve had a few new Potatoes join us lately, so it’s intro time!
Hey, I’m Ruby! Been a gamer since way back—started with a Commodore 64, and that “gamer phase” never ended.
I’m an achievement huntress, mostly on PC and PlayStation. Used to write and record achievement guides, do OG RE speedruns, and challenge runs (like SL1 in Dark Souls). A couple of years ago, I had an accident that led to a brain injury, so my hand-eye coordination is kinda shot now. But hey, I still love gaming, so who cares?
Now, instead of a pro gamer, I’m the Mommy to my Potato Squad (that’s you guys!).
I’m Ace (specifically Aegosexual) and panromantic. You probably followed me after seeing a pic and already have me labeled—fair enough, considering the “link in bio.”
But hey, a good gamer never judges a book by its cover. That’s how you find the hidden loot! 😉
Kuon and Rule of Rose were 2 of my most loved horrors as a kid. Never managed to beat Kumon (by FromSoftware btw)
Just recently, thanks to a John Wolfe video, I learned that Kuon is an expensive rarity nowadays!
Physical Games FTW!
Always take good care of them 🥰
Apparently Cyberleak just dropped the final GTA 6 leak… and somehow @PureRuby87 made it into the game looking this damn gorgeous. ❤️🔥
I wish it were true, but actually, it's a commission for my friend @BootyLover03 😚
This is Knuckles' Week At Sonic's, a FNAF fan-made game
I know it's not my usual content, but since I found out GameJolt has achievements I wanted to go play something, and here it is.
Admittedly it's pretty fun and easy enough for my broken brain to process the rules.
Barely^^
@Dustellar You need neither, mostly because I can't remember anything. On my frog photo, I was about to call her Toadette, misremembering them being mushrooms so...
Platinum no. 541: Wolverine
Here's my honest review:
I enjoyed it.
It's a story-driven action/adventure game. It's linear, and the gameplay almost feels like a vehicle that gets you from one piece of the story to the next. It's a casual game and it's meant to be played as that. It's not meant to be stressful, quite the opposite. If you come into this game expecting Souls-like boss battles, this isn't for you, and that's fine?
It has a pretty good story in the Earth-1048 universe. Graphically it's very nice to look at, and as I said above, the gameplay isn't too stressful, which might end up feeling boring for anyone looking for a challenge. It's a pretty good game if story-driven games are your thing. It will SUCK BIG TIME if you go in expecting a different game from what it is.
What I am trying to say is that I understand where some of the hate comes from. Sony chose a path not many agree with, and others are so exasperated by the trend of uglifying and forcefully siding with whatever ideology that they will jump at the slightest hint.
That being said, the gaming world is VAST. You aren't meant to enjoy every game. I know Wolverine was a pretty big title, but however big a title is, it will never make everyone happy. This time around, maybe you won't like it. Maybe next time you'll be the one enjoying a game everyone else hates.
Gaming is meant to entertain, but everyone has a different meaning for that word. For example, say one likes big boobs and one likes CBT. They DEFINITELY won't enjoy the same game, and that's absolutely fine XD
Remember: live and let live <3
@ChaosArms Admittedly the platinum isn't really that challenging. I could've made it easier by playing on the lowest difficulty but that gets boring fast
@SgClaw The screen says 16hrs but I actually failed a couple of trophies that I had to go back to, so it's 15ish hours with a bit of exploring and without skipping cutscenes
@FIacolare@fehlis@mrpyo1 Actually, I did notice him a long time ago, and he was always respectful. We've been friends ever since, so much so that we became friends IRL, a concept I'm sure is completely alien to you, considering how you post things that absolutely no one but you replies to. How sad.
