We join and work like founding designers for startups to F100. Design + AI with craft and intent. Google · Apple · Polestar · MLS · Ethic. Available July.
Today we’re launching our new site. It’s 32% done. We figured why not.
We’re building it in public because we can, because it’s fun, and because the work feels more interesting when it stays visible.
We’re sharing the thinking, the experiments, the decisions, and the unfinished parts as they happen. Built with the same approach we’ve brought to clients.
Desktop is the best experience for now. Take a look at https://t.co/Jq8uiK7XMR

@jasonfried Reminds us of this. Grind Slop. More is more for some. Not for people that still push things with care and passion. https://t.co/9xBVDKv80A
I never take things for granted. And I believe that you should live in the moment. Sitting in NYC's Lower East Side in the hotel lobby, finalizing the day.
Working with a multi-billion-dollar company that is unique, has the best people and the smartest minds. And I got the chance to work with them.
Earlier today I spent time IRL with the design team I have hired for this company, to take over from what my team @PureRxD has built.
It's not easy, and it for sure takes an entrepreneurial spirit to not only build design functions and products like this, but also to give it away when it's perfect.
We have always been a small studio. And we have always joined as part of the core team. Sometimes for 12 months and sometimes for 4 years. Thinking about using this as the headline.
Exploring case study compositions and systems. I think we have found a great system of expand and reveal interactions.
The details matter and love working the systematic approach to the foundation before adding custom changes. The animation direction of the plus to minus goes in the same direction as the reveal animation.
We can keep the default layout clean. And additional context or details one layer away. Still some bugs to fix but overall working.
And. Its fully systematic based on script. So a case study page is being built by the ts files that include the content, what component to use and pulls images.
We have to admit. Rookie mistake. We waited too long to review our new site on mobile. You know... things are flying between Figma, Claude, Paper and things. Flow state. We fixed the mobile late but made sure Claude was on top of it. Yes sir, Claude said. All good.
Mobile is a mess. Fixable, and we got this. Are we launching mobile too on Monday? You bet. Will it be broken? Hell yeah. There will be some weird stuff in there. And some things you can't get to on mobile.
@vanschneider Sensing that we are going full circle again. Back to Punk, Street and Grafitti coming up. We know because we are exploring the same. One brand we did about 2 years did this already. And it was a finance brand.
Date locked. We're launching build-in-public on Monday.
The foundation is solid. Real systems thinking, not scaffolding. We could sit on this, polish every edge case, wait until the case studies are airtight. But 30% done and shipping is more honest, more interesting, and frankly more fun than 100% done and invisible.
And we're not launching blind. We know what's coming. Hopefully. We know the work. Ethic, Google, MLS, McKinsey, Polestar. Years of deep engagement that actually changed how those organizations build. That's the proof.
The site just needs to catch up.
So we're going public early. Come watch it happen.
Clarity and standards matter. I think most companies should adapt what @linear is doing. Only feedback I would have in their process is that a 2-5 trial period is way too short.
We have hade great outcomes hiring people as freelancers for 4 weeks as a trial period. We do that so that both sides can get a good feel how it is to work together. For sure and past the interview promises.

@paulg The welfare state accidentally solves the startup motivation problem. When survival isn't at stake, money stops being a reason to start a company. What's left is genuine interest.
For our build in public I am thinking a journal style more than a typical log. I feel this will communicate better why the site is half built and not fully complete.
