A man spends 50 years teaching at MIT.
He knows his time is running out.
So he records one last lecture โ everything he knows, distilled into a single hour.
He died 5 months later.
This is that lecture.
The most important hour you'll watch this week. ๐

๐งต Most people think BEE was an ANC invention. They're wrong.
The real architect of Black Economic Empowerment was an Afrikaner, Attie du Plessis, executive director of Sanlam's Sankorp.
In 1993, Sankorp quietly made history by selling a stake in Metropolitan Life to black-owned Corporate Africa, the FIRST formal BEE transaction in South Africa. By the early 90s, the resulting company (NAIL) was the largest black-owned company on the JSE.
Du Plessis was also at the table in Dakar, Senegal in 1987, one of the Afrikaner business leaders who held secret talks with ANC leaders in exile, helping lay the groundwork for peaceful democratic elections.
Cyril Ramaphosa later took the concept to the new ANC government, eventually leading to the Broad-Based BEE Act of 2003.
History is rarely as simple as the narrative we're sold. ๐ฟ๐ฆ
