A woman has just given birth.

Everybody is happy. Then suddenly, she starts bleeding.

This is postpartum haemorrhage, and when it happens, no one has time to ask where the drug, tranexamic acid or TXA is.

That drug, Tranexamic acid can help reduce deaths from bleeding when it is given early after PPH starts.

So if a facility is providing emergency obstetric care, TXA should not be something they start looking for when the emergency has started.

It should be there.

As a man, if your wife is preparing to give birth, ask if the facility has TXA available. Same thing if you’re pregnant and preparing for delivery.

Ask questions. Know what is available.

Prepare before the emergency comes.

I am challenging ASUU to come out and defend its record.

2: For years, Nigerian taxpayers have funded university research through government interventions and TETFund.

3: Billions, billions ooooo have gone into research, publications, conferences and academic projects.

4: So where are the results?

5: I challenge ASUU: Show Nigerians ONE publicly funded university research project that has successfully moved from the laboratory into an industry producing a commercial product at scale.

-(a): Just ONE!

7: Don’t show us another paper published in an academic journal.

-(a): Don’t show us another conference presentation.

-(b): Don’t tell us about research sitting on a university shelf.

8: Show us the factory.

-(a): Show us the product.

-(b): Show us the company that adopted it.

-(c): Show us the jobs it created.

9: If government keeps funding research but Nigerian industries cannot see the products of that research, then we have a serious problem.

10: Enough of staff-club pepper soup every evening while taxpayers keep funding university research that Nigerians are yet to see translated into industries, products and jobs.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his children have also been sleeping comfortably since this tragedy began.

Meanwhile, innocent families are crying, praying, and living in fear every single minute.
