Hello, I'm Amethyst — or Amy for short.

Is it pretty cool from the POV of a speaker of some SAE language that "to be an X" is a sort of verb that can exist in some languages? Sure. But like... maybe don't be so hasty to say it "means" anything about the way that speakers of the language think or something.
There's nothing special about "being a bay". Like... I don't mean to deflate someone's "meaning" that they think they've found in their ancestral language, but... it actually isn't that unusual for languages to allow nouns to enter verbal paradigms.
Like... idk... maybe I'm just kind of a terminal nihilist or something, but like... I really loathe when people try and project mystical woo onto language. Language is language.
on today's episode number 91764178934610764016 of 'anglophones being too stupid to read phonetically spelled words', we have 'yet another fucking instance of people reading the sequence ⟨ai⟩ as [eɪ]'. 😑
conservative pundits: "tHe LeFt HaS sUcH uNrEaLiStiC gOaLs!!"
the "unrealistic goals" in question: literally things that several other countries already do just fine, e.g. universal healthcare, childcare, tertiary education, workers' rights, etc. 🙄
I'm gonna say this, because I am sick of seeing her videos around. Kaelynn Partlow is a Trojan Horse. She promotes the abusive practice known as ABA therapy. While some of the substance of some of her videos is fine, what she promotes and practices on a daily basis is not.
yes, apologetics is inherently dishonest. there. saved you a click and a whole lot of earpain listening to a certain not-so-inspiring vapid nitwit serial quote-miner who pals around with misogynists and homophobes
