The major point for me is the wider picture. The fact that Argyle's losses are considered small compared to our competitors is shocking. Change is needed across the board.

@lordbryanofkent @ArgyleMemes I think you've got to try and buck the trend, Mike. Obviously it hasn't worked though as we're back to haemorrhaging money like everyone else. I don't know what the answer is, but finance is getting worse throughout the entire pyramid including local town clubs. It's a disaster.

@ArgyleMemes @evenflow_uk Competence is judged over a period of time though, not on one very bad decision. He's done more good than bad. Without him we, like every other club, are insolvent. Lincoln have bucked the trend this season as we did in 22/23. Cardiff and Bolton haven't, their losses are huge.

@ArgyleMemes @evenflow_uk Who knows. Spinning bullshit that they were forced out is clearly wrong though. Demonising someone who's ploughed more money into the club than any previous owner pretty much combined is what pisses me off. Mistakes - yes. Incompetence - absolutely not.

@DykesyPAFC Sounds like a great idea. It can include failures such as a League 1 title win with record points and two seasons in The Championship for the first time since 2011. Should be good enough for a 3rd.

@ArgyleMemes The £30mil has been spread over 7 years of ownership though, so wasn't available for players in one tranche. The extra circa £4mil per season on more expensive players would then play in front of a rotting Mayflower Stand in a smaller stadium with a worse academy than ECFC.

@ArgyleMemes If SH had spent the £30mil he invested solely on players that amount is still chicken feed in the championship and would be gone in no time. Bring back the days of footballers needing to run pubs after they retire - i.e King Tommy. Wage inflation is the huge problem these days.

@ArgyleMemes We had a shot, had revenue streams in the top 12, hired a load of extra staff and tried to set up to stay in the division, but failed. We're now paying the consequences with people's jobs, which is awful.

@ArgyleMemes We were one of those clubs 3 years ago though. SH said from the outset that he couldn't finance The Champ on his own and so it's been proven. Granted two poor manager appointments contributed heavily towards relegation, but the truth is we were always destined to struggle.
