California taxpayers have sent tens of millions of dollars to NGOs like CHIRLA through state grants. Those groups then lobby Sacramento, organize politically, and back Democrats. Much of that activity never appears on FPPC campaign reports the way candidate spending does.
That is California’s nonprofit loophole. Public money should serve the public, not one party’s machine.

Vote YES on Prop 43 this November.
Courts let special taxes pass with 50% + 1. That opens the door to new taxes on homes and services. Prop 43 closes the loophole and restores the two-thirds vote Prop 13 promised. Don’t let seniors lose the house they have lived in for decades.

Also vote YES on Prop 39.

No ID at the polls, no last four digits on a mail envelope, that is why so many people do not trust our elections. Prop 39 requires ID, offers a free voter ID card, and requires citizenship checks on the rolls. Faith in the vote starts here.
