@amy_hennig was co-president of new media division of skydance games. as we’ve been waiting on #marvel1943#riseofhydra. Curious if @wbgames will be rolled into this group. SO MUCH future potential here. Good luck to all involved. #paramountgames
@Colteastwood So is that going to be live derives everywhere and single player only on Xbox. I’m just curious how that shakes out or if it means we will judge title by title which okay just be prepped for some of the workforce to be pissed. Although they contract enough may b not matter
@JezCorden@PUREFILTH6669 My basic understanding is that it’s tough to do a multi-modal singular agent so they’re making multiple agents which can work together to get tougher tasks done. This is coming from my understandable of cyber security ai research.
2/2 #stargate project because it’s not broad enough. Not thinking since Stargate went off the air a whole generation of ppl have grown up, there is a potential new audience to appeal to a whole new generation to get with good stories that don’t need to be modern just thoughtful
More thoughts on #stargate cancellation. AMZN buys MGM for Ip one of the bigger ones being Stargate. Has had rights to stream it for years so they have metrics on how well it would do to begin with. Green lights this and then cancels 1/2
@BaronDestructo Do you think Amazon would let your team shop this as a videogame? I can think of a bunch of gaming genres Stargate would be at home in. Also it wouldn’t completely let the work gone to waste somewhere.
@guymonadams Yes you’re right sorry I called it a reboot. I’d love if they could adapt what they’ve done into a game or something. I’d so play a star gate game I can think of a few genres it’d fit in.
The consulting producer of #stargate reboot. What a waste of creative time and energy for all involved. For some reason all business seems intent on avoiding the core consumer for its product. Have we forgot word of mouth? and natural growth. Games movies and shows. So sad
Sadly, it's true. Amazon has elected not to move forward with the new Stargate series.
There's not much I can add beyond confirming what's happened. But I will say this...
Creator Martin Gero developed a new Stargate series over two years, ultimately crafting a show that offered a fresh jumping-on point for new viewers while deeply respecting existing canon. It was a series that avoided the pitfalls of several modern remakes and reboots by fully embracing the core of its predecessors: action, adventure, exploration, wonder, heart, humor, and found family. And based on that creative vision, the new Stargate series was greenlit in November of 2025.
As of today, officially, that original vision is no more. We'll never get the opportunity to introduce you to that world and those characters - or reintroduce you to, and check in with, some familiar faces from the past.
My heart breaks. For the incredibly talented writers who worked tirelessly to bring this show to life. For Martin who maintained an unwavering positive outlook throughout despite the challenges, and who always strove to make a show that would honor the fans while welcoming a new audiences. And for the long-suffering Stargate fandom who waited so long and came so close to getting a show they truly would have loved.
@MeShellyShell I feel we need to get back to that. Just like if you make something for everyone you make it for no one. There needs to be a floor or a base set of people that a thing is for. That’s what I always learned in business school, clearly I’m not in the industry crowd.
