I grew up with this nomad environment actually.
Just sharing my perspective.
Every 3 years, we had to move to different state due to the bank policy, as my father is a bank officer.
Kelantan, Sarawak, Pahang, Selangor, these are some of the multiple city I grew up in.
Some say "Wah bestnya merasa banyak tempat!"
But from my side, it hurts actually.
Baru je nak buat kawan, rapat sikit, kena berpisah. Sampai tempat baru, kemudian ulang kisah sama di tempat baru.
Hasilnya?
I don't have childhood friends, I don't have someone close to me until now.
I grew up as a person who lack the interest to develop close relationship with anyone I met.
I don't have close friends, and I became easily move on to different people, when the time came.
For example, when I started my diplome, I no longer contacted my high school friends. When I entered my Degree, I lost contact with my friends in the diploma. And the cycle keep going until I finished my master.
In the end, it's hard for me to develop close relationship with someone, and I end up preferring to work alone and disconnect with other people around me (except for work purposes, e.g., clients).
This is not a disagreement of the quoted tweet, just sharing my perspective and journey of life on how my childhood shaped my adulthood.
The Imam of Masjid Al-Haram, Sheikh Abdur Rahman Al Sudais, has given an excellent formula for the last ten days of Ramadan.
1. Donate one dirham (one rupee) every day, if the day falls between Lailatul Qadr, you will get the reward of donating one rupee every day for 84 years or 1000 months.
2. Perform two rak'at nafal prayers daily, if the day falls in the middle of Lailatul Qadr, you will get the reward of performing two rak'at nafal prayers daily for up to 84 years.
3. Recite Surah Ikhlas three times daily, if the day falls in the middle of Lailatul Qadr, you will get the reward of reciting one Khatam Qur'an every day for 84 years.
He also said, spread these words among the people, those who will listen to your words and do deeds, you too will get rewards equal to their deeds, inshallah. Because the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, "The one who guides good deeds will receive the same amount of reward as the doer, but there will be no deficiency in the reward of the doer." (Muslim, 2674)
May Allah grant us all to do more deeds. Amen.❤️
Repeat after me: Malaysia doesn't need Starbucks here because we have numerous local brands, both established (commercial) and emerging (underdog) that surpass it in quality.
Bukan sebab kerja tak berkat, tapi harga barang naik kaw-kaw.
Dulu barang dapur RM200 sebulan, sekarang RM400-RM500 pejam mata je.
Harga barang naik, gaji kita still sama. Kena tunggu hujung tahun baru naik. Tu pun tak sampai 20%.
