Illinois has the highest debt ratio in America at 276%.

$220 billion in debt against only $80 billion in assets. It couldn’t pay it off even if it sold everything it owns.

Chicago is even worse. The city hit 7 out of 8 red flags, carrying $77 billion in debt against $49.8 billion in assets while overspending by $580 million. CPS sits on more than $93,000 in debt per student, and Cook County piles on another 269% debt ratio.

Residents get hit from every direction, while Pritzker keeps calling his budgets “balanced.”

This is what “fiscal responsibility” looks like in Illinois.

@danyay I lived not that far from the city in my 20s and stayed out until all early hours there. I would NEVER do that now. The criminals run those streets. I haven’t been to the city in the last 6 years. The criminals aren’t held accountable any longer and are boldened to be even worse.

I’m first generation Italian American. When my parents came here they had no food stamps, welfare, medical, housing. They had grit & determination to assimilate & be accepted as contributors to their new country.
They were from the greatest generation.
